Unicorn

So this is the picture finally dry. Need to flatten it now as it did buckle a bit so its going to spend a few days under some heavy books before I add any coloured pencil to it and than blend the pencil with a stencil brush. Going to try to make the really harsh puddle lines a little lighter, probably should have sponged some of the water off. Live and learn :)

So because I have to find something to draw while this gets flattened I decided that I should try to finish a fantasy animal from my poll a long time ago. I was planning on drawing a gryphon, but I just couldn't get it to look right so decided to go the easy route and draw a unicorn :p

Not sure if I am going to do this in CP or graphite. Coloured pencil if I colour him purpl :p

  1. Jeepers! You weren't kidding when you said a little of the Neocolour pigment goes a long way!
Can't wait to see how both these pieces turn out...especially the eagle!

  2. I'm glad the pigment goes a long way, the tin will last me a long time :p

I'm hoping the eagle will be flat enough tomorrow to start on *crosses fingers*

  4. I love them too :) I started this on some blue paper and am going to make him a piebald with coloured pencil, but if that doesn't work out I will do him in graphite. Probably going to do a few unicorns, can use all the media I have to do each one (like I need any more projects to do lol)

  7. A million variations sounds great!

I love shopping for supplies! I always spend more than I actually have to though.. I don't know what it is, I love paper, pens.. everything.. I love sharpie marker pens and instead of just buying one to use until it runs out, I'll buy a dozen..I really need to buy some sort of storage system actually. I've been going to Ikea but everytime I want to get something, they don't have it!!

How do you store your pens and pencils? All in a box? Have I already asked you this by the way? I just got deja-vu. I've seen a box that acts as a mini easel and a box at the same time, I'm still contemplating about getting it though.. and oh my god longest reply in the universe! Sorry Jennifer!!

  8. Ikea is evil, but they do have a lot of nice things (I always get lost there lol)

Coloured pencils that are being used at the moment are kept in glass jam/spaghetti jars. They are usually just kept in a big plastic tub though for ease of transport. I have to stuff a few rags or socks in the tub when I take it long distances to stop the pencils from rolling around :p (I really have to remember I don't need any more pencils when I go to the art store. But its so hard not to buy one or a few extras ;) )

I try to keep all the rest of my pencils/pens in the tins they came in, but that only lasts a few weeks before I mix them all together into jars.

My supplies use to look like this:

but not any more :p Piles of tins and boxes on the floor and on the linen shelf. It doesn't look organised but I know where everything is :)

I do keep my big sheets of paper as flat as possible in a box that came with an order I made. Perfect substitute for a paper shelf/cabinet. Would love to make a cabinet one day. :)

My sewing supplies are more organised than my pencils :p

I don't think you have asked the question before :) Those mini easels are good, but better to buy the best one you can afford than a cheap one. The cheap ones tend to break easily :/

This actually reminds me I need to straighten up my supplies and take inventory of what I might need. :D

Don't apologise! I think my reply might be a little longer ;) I always like answering questions :D
