Graphitint Horse
Started to colour the draft horse from yesterday. You can leave the Graphitants dry, but I prefer them after water is used on them. You can go over them again after they are dry, but its sometimes hit or miss how well it works depending on your paper. This is a 140lb paper so should be ok and survive most abuse I throw at it. 300lb would be better but I don't have any of that weight that is hot pressed. And smoother papers I find work better with these pencils.
Very nice! I've used graphitants for sketching and love the way the colors come alive when you get them wet. This should be a fun one for you!
ReplyDeletethank Ann :) yeah its kinda like magic once they are wet :)
DeleteFun and beautiful.

thanks :)
DeleteFor some reason I thought the horse was facing the other way - is this a new horse? The eye is simply marvelous.
ReplyDeleteGraphitants - would you explain what they are please. Are the aquarell graphite pencils the same?
He was facing the other way, got flipped around when I transferred him to the paper :) Your not imagining things :)
DeleteThe gaphitints are pretty much like the aquarell graphite pencils , but they have colour in them :) here is a link to them :)
Thanks, jennifer, the link didn't work so I will find them with a search. They sound something i would like to try.
Deleteoh wow... I'm learning heaps today reading your post and the comments! I don't think I've used graphitants before. As usual, wonderful sketching!!!
ReplyDeletethanks Mandy :) If you can get some to try out you should, they are nice to use :)
DeleteYour draft horse is looking good already! I look forward to seeing the finish, Jennifer. You are certainly keeping very busy for someone who has had all that surgery! And thank you for your lovely comment on my blog post.
ReplyDeleteKeep healing!
Kathryn
Thanks Kathryn :) I get bored easily sitting around doing nothing, and there is only so much a person can read sitting down :p
