Still doesn't have a Title

I put down base colours on the eagle. It is very rough and just putting the basic colours down to have a rough idea where the light and darks are.

I then took a blender to it all to smooth the colours out. I did try to follow the shape of any feathers I will be drawing later, but at this stage it not that  important that everything is in the right spot.

Finished blending the base colours and now to add the feather details. Like with most types of painting, it does help to have a basic tone down first to help with future shading. I do find its harder to work with a completely white canvas, whether that is a digital canvas or a fabric one.

  5. Hi Jennifer,
I agree with "Giggles". It's a fabulous painting and reinforces why humans often think of raptors as noble birds. Personally, I think you could get rich just painting eagles and hawks. It looks alive!
    Have a good week.

  7. You captured the look on its face perfectly. Just wondering what you're making this with, since you talk about a blender. It's not coloured pencils as far as I can tell, maybe copics? the result is stunning.
