A Blue Jay for left handed sketch #41. I do miss seeing these birds, even if they are bullies at the bird feeder, they are still gorgeous blue birds to see.
We get groups of blue jays here all year round. They indeed are bullies and loud, so very very loud, they become annoying. Pretty, yes, but darned annoying when you're having a conversation on the patio and they start screeching.
Oh, I guess I just have a thing for corvids of all kinds, and bluejays are the most colorful of the bunch so I don't mind - they do tell me when I need to put out more seed and suet! ha ha. We have a few who stay all year long and I enjoy looking out the kitchen window at a flash of blue now and then :).
This weeks colours for The Summer of Color are 2 purples and a yellow and this is what I did with them. Not my favorite colours so really racked my brain trying to think how I could use them and which bird to use. Decided to go with a juvenile Golden Eagle since I don't have any photos of a purple bird :p I think I prefer the black background, the yellow seems to stand out more against it. Which do you prefer?

thanks denthe, they are pretty pushy birds, will push the smaller birds off the feeders :p
rhonda, being corvids might explain why they are so pushy, push the stupider birds out of the way :p explains why they are so loud lol
