Scribble Picnic-Watermelon

This weeks theme for Scribble Picnic is watermelon, which I tend to find really tiny compared to the ones I could get in Canada.

I made up a pattern with a few different colour backgrounds, thinking of trying to make fabric with it to.

Really like the green version, very summer like.

  1. I think this would be cute wallpaper or wrapping paper. Nice take on the theme.

  2. That's a really clever take, Jennifer. I love it as a pattern. Thank you for adding this and doing those! Oh, and so are you saying they are actually bigger in Canada as they get quite huge here too?😏

  5. I LOVE your watermelon designs, Jennifer! Can't even pick a favourite as they are all so nice. I also love the peace sign aspect! I could definitely picture these on fabric or wrapping paper. Here, we get both a smaller round watermelon as well as the huge oblong types too. :)

  6. they look like pies to me, watermelon pies perhaps? and does the pieces suppose to make a peace symbol together?

    have a lovely day.

  8. Your watermelon makes a great peace sign. Very clever. I imagine it must take a long time for a Canadian watermelon to ripen given the growing season. Ours are still coming up from the south. But there's nothing like fresh watermelon in the summer!

Michelle, they do get pretty big there as well :) I've seen really huge ones that weighed a lot at a fair but prob dont taste good

    thank you Lisa :)

    thanks Christine :)

thanks Serena :) I keep my eyes out for the oblong ones, but only can find the round ones and dont taste the same I think :) ooh wrapping paper, didnt think of that, thanks :)

yep lissa, supposed to be a peace symbol, but I did think about making a watermelon pie :)

    thank you Janis :)

Lorraine, I don't know about the growing season for watermelons, I know you can get them usually at Farmers stands around this time where I use to live, and so much cheaper than the store. Watermelon is great in the summer, helps with the heat

thanks Chris :) I'm thinking of getting the green one printe3d on a cover for my laptop :)

    thanks Shashi :)

  12. These are super cute! I love that a peace sign runs through it too. Have you tried Spoonflower for fabric?

  13. All of the backgrounds look good, but I think I lean toward the darker one.
Watermelon come in all sizes, just depends where you find them to buy.
