Not 100% finished, but pretty close this time. I need more shading on the eye and a bit more shading on the back feathers and then it should be done *crosses fingers*
This is just lovely and all the great adjectives in the other comments. So full of movement. It could be flying off any moment, I have to hurry and look!
This weeks colours for The Summer of Color are 2 purples and a yellow and this is what I did with them. Not my favorite colours so really racked my brain trying to think how I could use them and which bird to use. Decided to go with a juvenile Golden Eagle since I don't have any photos of a purple bird :p I think I prefer the black background, the yellow seems to stand out more against it. Which do you prefer?
The detail is amazing in this stunning work of art!

ReplyDeletethanks :)
DeleteEvery time I see your art I am in awe!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it, so beautifully drawn and I like the composition with the unusual angle.
ReplyDeletethanks :) I really wanted to try a bird that wasnt in the usual angle you see them in :)
DeleteThis is really beautiful - i think that angle would be so difficult and the wing spread out is great.
ReplyDeletethanks sandy :) the angle wasn't actually too hard to work on, it was trying to get everything as dark as possible, lots of pressure involved lol
DeleteSuch an awesome creation ~ Wow!
