Eagle Owl #11

Off uni for 6 weeks, so have time now to work on this. I have to finish my big essay and do some more research but don't have to get up at 7 in the morning for a bit lol Still need to darken the left ear tuffts and the work on the neck area. Hopefully this ends up looking better once I've shaded it.

Uni Project Post #3

Poster #3 dealing with stereotypes people have about indigenous people compared with the true facts.  I'm not sure how many posters I will end up with, but I know I need either a small leaflet, book or info-graphic that has information about colonization and the residential schools in it so the posters make more sense rather then just posters that could be for anything.

Weekly Book Wrap Up

A day late but I'm ill lol my head is killing me. Finished 40 books this year, so anything else I finish is a bonus. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss My rating: 4 of 5 stars I just really enjoyed this book. Its sort of long at over 600 pages but I didn't find it boring, it didn't seem to drag in any parts. OK yes, some of the characters are better written then others and you do have your typical fantasy tropes (tropes from young adult books too), bad annoying high school jock type enemy, smart ass good guy main character and manic fantasy pixie girl that everyone adores but is so mysterious and beautiful you can't figure her out. The fantasy and magic parts are interesting, more world building would be nice but overall this is a well written fantasy epic and I want to read more. There is enough intrigue as to what happens next and what is the deal with the killer spiders, that I will be reading the next one in the series when I can. View all my revie

The other ear tufft shows up. I was wondering why I was getting different marks on this, you can see the darker marks on the top of the head on the left near the new tufft. Dull point of course, but didn't think about that until John suggested it. Duh makes sense since the scriber hasn't been sharpened since the last etching I did. Doesn't really make a difference when printing, but really shows up here in the scan so will have to try to fix that in Photoshop or something.

Very very tiny update on the head feathers. I started the other ear tufft today but need to get a lot of research done for uni on various subjects including electric cars and the impact they have on the environment. The environmental impact of creating the cars is actually a lot worse than people think. Not denying low emissions from the cars but there are a lot of other factors that need to be thought about when it comes to electric cars. Another poster for my personal project for uni focusing on stereotypes people have of indigenous people to try to get people to stop and think about the truth.

Still working on the owls head. So many tiny feather to have to etch, can't wait until I get to the shading stage for this. Will look a lot better when it isn't so flat looking.

Weekly Book Wrap Up

I keep saying that I am done reading any King books but never learn. I'm only going to read his old books because at least those were fun to read.   Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King My rating: 1 of 5 stars Too long, too many characters and tries to be more smart than it actually is. This book needed a better editor, or two considering how long it is. You could have easily gotten rid of half of the book and half of the characters considering most of them do not do anything for most of the story.
