Easter Dragons #2

Where my digital Easter dragons are at the moment. Lots of coloured eggs and gummi bears still to do :)

Easter Dragons #1

Redrawing old art and this is where it is at the moment :)

Inktober Catch Up

Image
Seven pen sketches to try to get caught up for Inktober. Still behind lol but closer now to finishing the month with 31 sketches for Inktober. I thought if I just drew very quick 5 minute sketches I could get caught up as this month has turned out to be a lot busier than I thought it would be. I don't think I will do anything more with these but they make nice warm up pieces to get my wrist moving on the page.

Inktober Day 2&3

Image
Day 2 is 'baby dragon' but I didn't want to draw another cute dragon so drew an angry one hatching out of it's shell. Attitude right from birth lol Day 3 was 'dragon rider'. I could have went the traditional humanoid rider but decided to draw something tiny and cute and holding a sword, still counts as a dragon rider.

Throwback Thursday

Image
Art from 2003 for a rainbow dragon zoo. I really want to redraw this, but need to finish other things first before I start anything else.

Mother's Day Dragon

Image
Zazzle store Redbubble store Finished Mother's Day dragon. Simple and cute. Really like the colour scheme. Done with Affinity Designer because I am not paying for Adobe every month now that I am not doing graphic design at uni but I still do want to create digital stuff sometimes.

March Meet the Maker 2019 Prompt #11

Image
Prompt #11 is Reducing waste. I don't have a lot of waste, I try to recycle as much as I can in this area and about 75% of my supplies are second hand. Working digitally doesn't create physical waste unless you print out things and I try to recycle print outs. I guess you could say the computer and tablet would be waste but I don't often buy new tech and keep things until they are dead beyond repair.

Finished St.Patricks Dragons

Image
Zazzle Store Redbubble Store Finished my dragons for St.Patrick's Day. Very green, but can't go wrong with green for that holiday. I wanted to keep them cute and simple. Not because I was being lazy, I just wanted something very basic :)

St Patrick's Day Dragons

Image
The start of some dragons for St. Patrick's Day. Needs a lot more work and another dragon added to it. Side note: I've been sick the last 2 weeks. When I get sick, I get sick which is why I get angry at people when they are sick and cough everywhere. Stay the hell home people (or at the very least stop coughing/sneezing into your hands and then touching everything). What might be only 2-3 days of you being sick might mean someone else spends a month ill as a dog or in some cases ends up in the hospital.

Throwback Thursday

Image
Two dragon ATCs from 2008. The top one is graphite and coloured pencil, the bottom on is graphite and Neocolours if I remember right. I do like how vibrant the Neocolours are, should use them more but always forget I have them lol

Inktober Day 23

Image
For today I decided to just sketch a dragon since I haven't done one yet for Inktober this year. Just the head since its a tiny sketchbook and I wish I had of used better paper so the blue markers would have blended better together. Just adding lots of cross hatching with the pen by using a light hand and a very quick strokes.

Throwback Thursday

Image
Found some art from a few years ago. This dragon is from 2009 when I was trying to relearn how to use graphite. Might take the idea and redo it with Painter actually,  would be easy to get rock texture digitally. Probably around the same year, my first attempt at reduction linocut. Not bad for a first go, registration is off slightly, but could be worse lol

Winged Dragon Update #5

Image
Still working on the feet between writing my essay and making quick watercolour sketches. His feet look a bit cartoony, but I'm OK with that :)

Winged Dragon #4

Image
Starting to work on the dragons feet now. Just remembered he needs some teeth lol

Winged Dragon Update #3

Image
Added some spikes to the 3D dragon's head. Stills needs scales on his head, maybe this weekend if I get some time. He sort of looks a tad surprised here lol

Winged Dragon #2

Image
I have just been working on the head on this dragon. Haven't started on the body yet, and probably wont for a few days now. He is turning out to be a very different looking dragon for me. Very bird influenced it seems. Sort of a cross between a vulture and a spur winged plover. Plus me just messing around lol

Winged Dragon #1

Image
Started to work on a standing winged dragon last night. Have all the time in the world right now to work on what ever I want, so of course I make a dragon lol Created the basic shape above. Made  the spheres into an adaptive skin and now can start modeling. Started to build up the basic shapes on the head and wing arms. Possibly going to take awhile to fill out all the detail.

Finished 3D Dragon

Image
Finished dragon, and I was going to put wings on him but decided it would look better without them. I put a very light scaly texture of almost the whole body, I didn't want him to be too bumpy but he needed a bit of texture just so he looked a bit better. The top view and the belly view, I guess I could have put tiny scales all the way down his tail, but I can in the future if I need to. I'm trying to think of another mythical creature to do next that isn't a dragon, leaning towards something from Greek mythology but might change my mind and do something completely different.

3D Dragon Update #3

Image
Finished putting in the back spikes, and the claws in his front feet. Started to add some plates to his neck and belly, but still need to add more. I do plan on putting wings on him still, but will start on those once I have the rest of the body finished (when ever that will be lol)

3D Dragon Update #2

Image
Changed the material to a shiny blue one found on Instagram by another 3D artist. The face still needs still needs a lot of work and a lot more scales. I also started to work to work on his feet, giving him pointy claws. The basic muscles suture is finished, just lots of scales and detailing to go. I think the next is going to be something really simple lol
