Finally finished after a few months it seems, now onto the next painting :)

She has ears now but still no nose lol

Still working on the digital painting of Sky, just taking longer than I wanted, but thankfully almost done. I redrew the sketch as it really looked odd and no amount of painting either digitally or traditionally was going to fix it.

So just got the bad news that Sky has ruptured her cruciate on her left hind leg, quote for the surgery £1700 (!) in the words of the vet "its a 'smidge' more than the last surgery, last surgery was £1100, so a bit more than a smidge...... A drawing of Sky from 2011. I need to use graphite more, forget how I much I like using graphite. And yes she usually does look that happy and excited lol

OK, so this kind of looks a little too feline like, (I think its the claws), but its just supposed to be the basic sketch. Hopefully once I vector it, it looks more like a dog lol I like Dachshunds, but they can have so many problems with their backs now and tend to get a tad too pudgy if you let them lol. Still nice little dogs though.

Messing around in After Effects.This is only part of a longer dream sequence that I need to finish, and should have finished it today, but I've run out of time. Always tomorrow to get it finished lol I wanted the dream sequence to have a simple cartoony look to it, partly because I am still learning and just because I liked the look this way. Going to add sounds to it, which is my favourite part of making these :)

Cartoon style border collie. I only need to animate the top one with the side view but decided I should probably create a few different views just in case. Almost ready to animate everything, just need to draw a few more small things and then try to put everything together.

Finished the base model for the dog. I need to try a different method for the fur next, the fibermesh option, which only makes sense if you have used ZBrush before. I might paint the model, probably with Substance Painter which I haven't actually used before but looks really cool. I wasn't going for a really realistic looking dog, something more like a cartoon version of a dog, so big feet were a must.

Completely changed the way the 3D dog looked, its more cartoony now which is what I wanted. Still needs a bit of work and then I can start adding the fur, but that might be a few days since the Flu is kicking my butt and I hardly have any energy to do anything.

A sleeping Border Collie which might be for a motion piece if I can get it to work right lol Now to make a few more in different poses.

Slowly building up the dogs shape and basic fur texture. Some of this will be smooth in the end, some will be pretty rough, but its starting to look more dog like now.

Starting a 3D dog, supposed to be a collie but we will see how it goes lol Here are the spheres to build up the basic shape. Chubby dog after hitting the adaptive skin button. Needs a lot of "carving" away of the material to get a more collie look to it. Getting there but still needs a bit more work on the basic shape and then I can start adding detail to the model.

It was my birthday yesterday, so I did nothing but watch Youtube videos and play Command and Conquer all day, but back to work today. More dog/puppy sketches, done in pen this time. I wanted to make a cute puppy like character, harder than people think to keep it cute but still looking like a dog. I kept drawing cat heads lol The body on this one works but I need to attach the head from below onto it. Now to vector the sketches in Illustrator to make the lines clearer, but first, more research for Uni.
