Tutorial this month in my newsletter for this little card

No we haven't run out of food :p I ate too much. Sadly no Gerard Butler under the tree this year, but there is always next :p

Little ACEOs done in NeoColours and coloured pencils. I haven't drawn a lot these past few days, and now its hard to get back in the habit. I have lot of ideas, but just can't seem to find the time to draw them. Hopefully now I will have the time as we are not doing anything else this year.

A lot of people are doing a year in review post, so here is my year in review. I didn't really have any goals laid out for this year but I will probably have a few for next.

How did you promote your art? Posting on my blog, updating my site, posting on art blogs. When people asked what I did, I told them I was an artist and would give them cards or direct them to my site

What did you do to enhance your online presence? Joined Flikr, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, a few message boards, tried to remember to post art on Deviantart, Artwanted. Joined a team on Etsy. Joined Etsy, Dawanda,

What technological skills did you learn or improve? I learned how to use Photoshop and Gimp better to make my scans or photos look closer to the art. Because ubuntu is on my laptop I had to learn how to use a new operating system and now that I have learned how to use it I prefer it to Windows.

How many people did you add to your mailing list? I just started up a mailing list this year, and so far things are going well. The subscribers are growing every month.

Whom did you mentor or help out? I don't know. I do try to help people out when they have questions about coloured pencils or if they ask me for a critique. But there hasn't been one specific person. I like helping people with art so am usually more then willing to.

Did you create a new business card, portfolio, or other marketing piece? Yep. I try to change my business cards every few months, (just did this).

What medium or skill did you attempt or master? Using Neocolours. I have attempted to combine them with coloured pencils but have not mastered them yet.

What did you try that was completely new? Using Neocolours

What new art events, galleries, and museums did you visit? The local gallery The Meffan. I try to go every month when the have a new exhibit, even if the art is not my cup of tea.

What resources did you discover? Online resources? A few message boards, but no local resources. They are clubs around here are either music clubs or craft orientated.

How did you improve your studio habits? How did you enhance your office or studio environment? Organizing paper better, having shelves for supplies put up, file things away when done, and generally spend more time cleaning up.

What articles were written about your work? Um, I don't actually know. I know there were blog write ups made, people posting about me and my site, but I don't remember the link (this makes me feel horrible. I know I have them bookmarked but can't seem to find them)

What exhibits, grants, contest, etc. did you submit your art to? None this year. I had meant to submit art to The annual Xmas show at the Meffan but did not have the money to frame up work. I am hoping next year I will.

Where did you save a wad of money? Trying to use up all the supplies I have instead of going out a buying something just because. Printing up my own business cards.

Its funny hearing Mr.Fuzzy try to fly a flight simulator. Not much swearing but lots of crashing ;) Bi Bang!
