Eureka! I can draw again. Sort of lol. Its not perfect and not my usual style but I really like the results :)

If I end up only being able to use pastels, I am going to spend a lot of time practising. And since even a good set of soft pastels is not that much money, I'm not worried about using this set up. Can get another (I really want a set of 48 or more soft pastels). I will end up with a lot of coloured pencils to get rid of though. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

This was drawn for Jeanette's apple challenge :)

  4. At last, I'm feeling well enough to catch up with some of my fave blogs.

I sure hope the MS flare-up settles down for you....it must be very frustrating for you not to be able to use your pencils without difficulty, however, you are pretty darned good with those pastels. Great job on the apple!

Having spent a week or so experimenting, the results can sometimes be frustrating but this looks like a damn good result to me :D

  7. I can only imagine how awful it must have been not to be able to draw, but you have certainly taken to pastels like an old pro. I have always loved your style, but I like the new impressionistic look too. Be well soon!

  11. Tha apple looks amazing - your pastel work is beautiful.

I had a thought - here you can buy grips to put on pencils and pens. Sort of trainers usually used for kids when they are learning to write. They do make the pencil a lot thicker and much more comfy to hold. Have you seen them before? If not I could send you one.

  12. thanks Michelle :)

Liesl- we havent been able to find them here which is really odd. i am going to try the pound store but if i cant find them there will i have no idea where i would. drives me crazy as i know i've seen them before here. i think they would help a lot, especially if i don't get 100% of the feeling back in my hands. thank you for the offer, might have to except if i cant find any this weekend :)

  16. Catching up on your blog backwards. So now I know, it is soft pastels and rainbow sneezes. And so the pastels are obviously working for you. A good solution.
