Meet Fred

Copyright Jennifer Rose Phillip

An alligator (I think), drawn for analytical drawing. Fred because I couldn't think of a name for the head and a classmate suggested Fred, its better then Bob :p

And this is what I drew with my left hand last week (obvs. not Fred :p). Personally it looks like scribbles, but the teacher liked it. And after a few more drawings with my left hand I could see an improvement so really want to keep practising with my left hand. And if my right hand gets cut off for what ever reason (and if it ever did happen it would be some freak accident that only could have happened to me :p Some days I'm amazed I don't kill myself I'm so clumsy), it would be handy to be able to draw with the left.

Nice work. I haven't attempted to draw with my left hand for a very, VERY long time.

I really like these anatomical drawings of skulls. I think you've done very well with them.

Reminds me that I have some bones just waiting for me to draw. :)

Very nice drawings! Even you are drawing nicely with both hands, please keep your right hand safe :)

I can't draw anything that resembles what it is supposed to at all - I was told to try with my left hand as my brain would have programmed my right hand to draw what I expect to see rather than what is there. I haven't tried it out yet!

thanks serena :) if you do try again please post the results on your blog :)

jeanette thank you :) bones can make such interesting drawings, so many different shapes and textures to them.

helen thanks :) need to wrap my right hand in bubble wrap to try to protect it. better yet, a suit made of bubble wrap :p but would spend all day popping the bubbles :p

lynsey, its supposed to help with that, not sure if it works. but you do seem to concentrate more drawing with the left. you should try it one day :D

I love seeing your drawings - they're just great :) Interesting drawing with your left hand, I've never tried that - looks pretty good though! Hope your right hand gets better - is it OK?

I see one of my questions answered, so I won't ask. Alligator/Fred looks great. LinkWithin tells me you've previously named a spider Fred...

About your hands; I know you don't like to talk about it too much.

Great job! I wouldn't be able to draw anything with my left hand.
