Black Dahlia

A new coloured pencil piece, much smaller than the last dahlia, about 5 inches squared. Still needs some shading, but the basics are there. :)

  1. Looks quite stunning on the black background. Which black paper are you using?

  2. Very very nice...love seeing the WIP pic. Dahlia's are wonderful. Unfortunately here it is too cold to leave them in the ground so the tubers have to come inside for the winter. I always put off digging them up to the point that I am trying to beat the severe frost. Looking forward to seeing the big finish! :-)

  5. Beautiful! This looks very challenging to draw and is already stunning, especially on the black paper.

  6. thanks sue :) its murano paper, really like the paper but doesn't take many layers

teresa, thanks :) its hit or miss if the tubers survive in the ground here, so we just leave them. if they die, the die :p

    thanks serena :D

  8. Love how you always show the befores and afters. The after is gorgeous, of course. And I know how much nicer the black is in person compared to a scan, so I can imagine.
