Flesh....

Was going to title the post boobs, but don't want to have to deal with all the spam :p

Her arm is a little short, but other than that, I like how this turned out. Good to know I haven't forgotten how to draw the human form :p

And another charcoal drawing, also very loose. Well for me at least :p

This time in college, I am going to try and loosen up more. Still try to keep things recognizable, but stop fussing so much about the detail. I only have college 2.5 days, so will still have lots of time to draw other things and focus on the business :)

Any idea what kind of flower this is? It is very dry to the touch, and they are a bunch of colours. No one can remember what they are called tho lol

*yawn* should sleep :p

  1. Drawings are fabulous - but no picture came through regarding the flowers - so I can't help identify. :-)

  4. I know that flower, I have felt its paperiness, but I don't know the name.
Glad you are enjoying your drawing and I like your human form!!!

  5. They are called Everlastings here (dried flower arrangement specialty)or Paper Daisy. and are a native species. Whole swathes of the outback are covered with them in spring and people come in tourist buses to WA just to lose themselves in fields of them.

LOVE your skull - just fantastic. Boobless is excellent as well!

  6. Hi Jennifer,

Glad you didn't go with the "Boobs" post title! LOL
Who knows what type of comments you would have gotten. LOL
Love the sketches and I can't help you with the name of the flowers. :(
    Hugs

  7. Yep, they look like everlastings to me, too.
Your drawings are both quite nice. I haven't drawn nudes since my own college days (an eon ago). Yours is great but that skull is exceptional.

  8. Mom used to call them straw flowers...but, I think like the girls mentioned.... Everlasting is more the real term..Helichrysum monstrosu if you prefer the Latin..... I didn't know that term off cuff you understand, I just looked it up.....lol.....

  9. I refuse to draw humans, so your like twenty steps ahead of me :) I really like the second one, gives it an aged, over time feel.

  10. I love your life drawing...it looks great, and your skull. I have a skull (found), actually several, but drawing them gives me a headache--much more complicated than a human figure.
