Summer of Colour #3
This weeks colours for The Summer of Color are 2 purples and a yellow and this is what I did with them. Not my favorite colours so really racked my brain trying to think how I could use them and which bird to use. Decided to go with a juvenile Golden Eagle since I don't have any photos of a purple bird :p I think I prefer the black background, the yellow seems to stand out more against it. Which do you prefer?

Well I don't know what the Scottish interpretation is but I use the word a lot to describe when I'm dodging from bit to bit on my drawings.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very disciplined about working from top left to bottom right .. I 'flit' to whichever bit takes my fancy!
Here, doing a flit means running away, usually to avoid trouble: He did a midnight flit to avoid the woman's husband's wrath.

ReplyDeleteNot sure if the Scottish definition is the same but I've always known 'flit' to mean, running away or dodging trouble. We used to say people had done a 'Moonlight Flit' when they'd pack up and sneak away from their rental accommodation in the middle of the night to avoid paying a backlog of overdue rent.
