Started another drawing today, had nothing else to do in class since I had everything done. This is from a reference photo from paint my photo . The basic shapes were drawn, and it does look a little long in the face, but not enough to make me want to erase any of it :p Starting to shade the face and work up the basic values. Almost done with the body shading, still need darker values and spots of course :)

I really need to finish this bag :p Made a Pinterest account, I can see how it can be addictive :p Changed the way comments on the blog are handled last week, I like using a thread for comments but if it bugs a lot of people, I might change it back :) And added a sharing widget to the bottom of the blog entries, which should make it easier to show other people something you like :)

Drop all these books on them? :p Sitting male model drawing that I really like. It does look like he is perched on a ledge, which can be a problem sometimes. Getting the model to look like they are sitting and not floating in mid air :p I can't remember if I posted this design sheet or not. Another repeating pattern for class. The same pattern, I just messed around with GIMP to get it. Could use this for so many things, and the colour variations are endless.

The line art for a new picture. I haven't decided on whether to paint it, use pencils, or just make a mess with it yet :p Its pretty big, think its A1 so if I use pencils it would take a long time, much quicker with paint. Have to figure out how to transfer it onto different paper first. And more life drawing, and I think this time you can tell its the female form. Looks like she is praying, but she was holding her mobile :p

Painted my dragon mask today, still needs work but its getting there :) Put a base coat of light green over the whole thing, so so no brown shows up and gives me a basic tone. I mixed together a few different shades of green and then started layering the colours on the mask. Darker colours around the eyes and in the folds, lighter colours for highlights. You can see the different green shades in the background. I just made a base green and added small amounts of red, white and black to them, but all from the same green colour so they greens will go together. Looking more like a croc than a dragon :p An almost finished paint job. Need to find some bronze paint to match the peacock feathers. Kind of looks like its laughing here :p

So Mondays here are usually pretty slow, sometimes its hard to think of what to write about. To solve that problem, I am going to write about music, maybe mention bands some people don't know about, combine art and music maybe? Don't worry, I wont be getting a flute or a trumpet and put a vlog of that up :p (that would just be mean) I am a huge fan of I Mother Earth , I actually prefer the singer they have now over the original singer. They have actually been on hiatus for the last 8 years, but have sort of gotten back together (yay!) Would love to see them live, but thats a long shot since I am here, not in Canada I will try not to just post Canadian bands lol
Playing with Clay

And now the fun starts, adding bumps and the eyes :) The eyes are buttons I had, but they work perfect for this :D I had never used air dry clay before, so wasn't really sure if it would work with the mask, it still might not and I will go to college on Friday to find this in pieces :p The clay worked pretty well, I was worried that it would dry too fast and I wouldn't be able to work fast enough with it, but it stayed wet for about an hour before it started to dry up. will def. use it again when I can't use a kiln to fire clay. And a side view so people can see the texture a little better. Not sure what colours to paint this when its dry, colours that go with peacock feathers probably.
