Ural Owl #1

Started to colour the little owl :) He or she, still needs a lot of work so that the marks look like feathers and look more fluffy.

I really enjoying colouring feathers, especially on coloured paper. The base colour really helps with the shadows on the feathers, all you have to remember to do is to make the marks in the right directions.

This, is now cut into 2 by 2 inch squares and the squares make a much nicer painting then the whole piece. Once I have them mounted I will make sure to get some photos to post here.

What paper are you working on Jennifer? Looks an interesting colour.

I'm a real fan of Pastelmat for coloured pencil and pastel but the colour range is really limited.
