Blue

whale-tail

Little finished lino of a whales tail. Yes, I know the registration doesn't line up perfectly, I should lie and say that its on purpose (its not :p), but I still like how it turned out. The blue looks like shadowing on the fluke. There is a blue gradient to the water, but it isn't really showing up on the scan :/

I really need to practice more with getting registration lines to line up properly, out of 20 prints I am lucky sometimes to get one properly aligned print.Practice makes perfect I guess.....onto the next print.

  1. I have no idea what 'registration lines' are but good luck with lining them up. I'm assuming it's where you line things up with subsequent layers?

  2. Nice! :) I only used one color when I did lino prints, so I have never had the "joy" :p of trying to register the image. Good luck! :)

  4. It is hard to get them to line up without some kind of marker or line. I love the tail, it's great and I think of the 7/8 of the whale under the water!! It is what they look like and the shading adds depth.
