Stitches Out

Well actually they came out on the 7th, and I didn't feel a thing since my face is numb, so that was OK. Was itchy after that and is very hard not to scratch but I can move my neck now, so yay. I tried really, really hard to stick to soup, but I couldn't do it. I need something with a bit more to it, so have been eating these plus soup, not exactly healthy, but they are soft and easy to eat and add to the calories I get a day. Still not a lot, but better than 300 calories a day so not dropping weight as fast. (pic below of the cut with the stitches out, just to warn people if they are squeamish, no blood just 2 big cuts)

The shocking feeling is probably the nerves in my face acting up, normal apparently. Hurts tho, like getting shocked and kicked in the side of the head at the same time and it happens randomly.Trying really hard not to yawn, since I can't open my mouth enough to yawn and when I do yawn, it feels like something is pulling.

And yes, its almost 2 in the morning, insomnia is great :p Want to sleep, can't fall asleep tho, partly because of the zapping feeling, partly because my leg keeps twitching.

And now that the stitches are out, the surgery cut doesn't look as gruesome and the swelling has gone done a bit, almost normal now. Not sure how much of a scar I will have. The cut near my ear will probably be hidden, but I don't know about the cut on my neck. Can't put any lotion on them since they are still pretty sore to touch :/

I'm going to have to beach my hair again to lighten the shaved part to dye it red :p

Are those ramen noodles (here brand name Mr.Noodles)? You have to start somewhere (I get I shouldn't admit that I eat those all the time, should I?) Yes, all those horrid pains/shocks are probably nerve endings healing. Too bad they won't keep their happy dance to thenselves. Hope you keep feeling better and better.

Just catching up on missed posts. Why have you had surgery Jennifer - is this all tied up with the MS? The scars look quite neat so hopefully scarring will be minimal but sorry you're having such a rough time

I have arthritis in my jaw joints, and after some injections that worked temporarily, the only option I had left was surgery to replace the joint. so hopefully it helps and I can open my mouth more then I could before, and it stops locking open and clicking.

thanks :) the cut by my ear will hopefully fade, but not sure about the one on my neck :/

So glad you don't have the stitches any more. I'm sure the scars will fade with time. I used organic aloe vera gel for my melanoma incision site after the stitches came out. It helped immensely with soothing and toning down the red appearance. I hope the pain eases for you soon. xo

OMGCB, tthat is some excellent scarring. I can recommend vitamin E cream. A log (yes a whole tree) rolled on my sister's ankle and she used vitamin E for the scarring very successfully. I care not about my scars. You poor thing, I am yawning all the time and trying unsuccessfully not to open my mouth

thanks :) I use to have a bunch of Aloe plants and would just break a piece of if I needed. I can't seem to keep them alive here tho :/

ouch! that sounds like it would hurt o.0

i generally don't care about scars either, I have so many all ready :p but where this one is,might be is pretty visual and will get people asking me all kinds of stupid questions :p will have to try E cream :)

i've given up not trying to yawn and just end up saying ow a lot :p
