Getting Stoned
Forgot how strong the smell of turps is lol
The start of another coloured pencil piece. Still working on the lilies but wanted to work on a bird and since I don't have any plexi-glass cut for an etching right now, I have to use coloured pencil to do it.
Did a very messy background and then blended it with turps. Will have to go over it with more pencils to darken some areas but that is a lot easier to do now that there is a green base colour.

If you don't want to get stoned (Totally up to you :D) have you thought of trying near odorless mineral spirits? When I wanted to try spirits with colored pencil it was what I insisted on since I know I will spill it (and have!)
ReplyDeleteI love green, you made a pretty green and I'm having fun trying to guess which bird that is.
lol, nope dont want to get stoned lol
Deletethought about it, but on a budget, turps are a lot cheaper
should be able to guess the bird now :)
I don't use solvents much so my 125ml bottle of Zest It (lemon smelling) has lasted about 3 years. What about using watercolour pencil for the background so you only need water?
ReplyDeleteI think I'd have guessed the bird even without seeing the picture LOL - you're on a roll with eagles!
i did think about using watercolour pencils, but im not sure how this paper will act with them, should try it and see
Deletei know, i really should draw different types of birds more lol
