Mistakes

Is adding the green bandana a mistake? Time will tell since it still needs work, but I'm posting this anyway. And the main reason is that it shows that we all make mistakes when it comes to art. It doesn't matter if you have been creating art for a year or 50 years. Everyone will make mistakes, even if they don't admit it and then they are just lying :p And if the bandana still doesn't look right in the end, I can always crop the rest of the image to fit in a mat.

  1. I think it will be OK, just keep going.

I agree about showing your mistakes, I was nervous about showing my sketchbook pages, because they are far from perfect, but it is good to show that part of art-making, it makes the successes feel more special!

    1. thanks :) I know fabric is not one of my talents so should be practicing more on it for when it shows up like places here :)

I use to be nervous about showing mistakes and messy artwork, but realized it might actually help someone who is just starting out in art to realize everyone messes up and just embrace it :) and yes it def does make the art that goes our way 100% more special :)

  2. I like the way you've incorporated green into your background which works well with the bandana colour - I'm sure it will work out beautifully. I'm working on a cp portrait on dark grey pastelmat just now and the first version got binned as I couldn't get the skintones right ... I haven't got any photos though. I don't often give up on work but sometimes there's just no other way out and I hope that I learn by all my mistakes along the way
