we tried getting a dog from a rescue, but none ever fit right or we didn't have a big enough yard for them, even tho we lived a 2 minute walk from a huge park. we ended up getting her from these people that should never had gotten a dog, let alone a border collie. they were bathing her in flea shampoo everyday (and she didnt have fleas), not feeding her enough at all for a puppy, and not doing anything with her at all. complained they couldnt get her house trained after weeks of trying. took less than 2 days after we got her to house train. we were her third owners, so she has a bit of separation anxiety
Oh, that story. Now I think I do remember. And, well, I think you understand about why I'm nervous about a home visit. I'm glad you got Sky out of there; I think it's always better for the pets to move directly from a 'not suitable' home to a good home without ever going through the abandonment stage. And I'm being polite, because some people abuse dogs through sheer ignorance.
My poor neglected blog! I just keep forgeting and running out of time in the day to post anything. I will try to post at least a few times a week *crossign fingers*
Super pretty Sky. Never asked, so I will here (and now). Is she Rescue? Where did you get Sky. (will subscribe to comments to make sure I read)

DeleteI love happy ending stories like this! We were Sweetie belle's third owners as well and the things the first two did, oooh I could punch a fool.
Deleteyeah some people really have no business getting a dog or any animal for that matter
DeleteOh, what a lovely story about Sky- the part with YOU, not the other part!!!
ReplyDelete:) currently she is passed out in the hall, sleeping over the heating pipes :p
