Gold Implant
You can clearly see the gold implant in my eyelid here and I am not a vain person that gives a damn about that, but its frikken being really painful right now. Like I am getting poked in the eyelid with a needle, so really glad I have an appointment this week to see the people who put it in. If the only option I have is to take it out, out it comes, even if that means my vision goes back to being blurry. Too painful to leave in.
I had assumed that they would shape it to better fit along your eye...wow.
ReplyDeleteI am a little surprised at how big it looks lol no wonder my eyelid was swollen so much.
DeleteHi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with this. I am amazed that you are able to continue making blog posts.
You're one tough young woman...talented, too!
Sincerely,
Gary.
thanks Gary :) I think blogging just takes my mind away from thinking about it lol
DeleteJennifer, it looks so awkward and uncomfortable! What is the gold meant to do for your eye?
ReplyDeleteKathryn
to help my eyelid close since there was nerve damage. its helps but i still might say get rid of it
DeleteAhh - thank you. What happens if it's removed? Will the nerve regenerate somewhat [in its own time] ?
DeleteIt should, it has almost 100% now, so the gold helped and the nerves do try to repair themselves, just takes time. If after a year there is no improvement, they consider the damage permanent. The nerve damage on the other side is about 90% normal from over a year ago, so it can sort of go back to normal lol
DeleteI'm with Gary. Wow. Hang in there.
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteOuchhhhhhh! Don't give up yet. Hopefully, that intense pain lessens every day. Sending you hugs!!
ReplyDeletethanks Chris :) Next appointment is in March and then it should come out then :) told to put lotion on the scar to try to help :)
