Lake Erie Pastel

New paper for me, velour paper. I like it, but had to figure out a way to fix the pastel to the paper without any of the fixative leaving spray marks. John to the rescue for thinking of the spray varnish I have. Worked well and didn't change the colours that much, as fixative can or leave any spray marks on the paper.

This is a scene at Lake Erie before it started to rain. Can get pretty windy down by the pier, but the view is really nice.

Oh I love how dark this is and the movement of the water.

Very impressionistic. I'm quite drawn to it!

thanks Michelle :) really enjoying making these landscapes, allows me to be really loose if I want rather than try to make something detailed
