More Markers
Another marker on Yupo piece. Yes, the beak is too short but I ran out of room and I'm drawing right with the markers on the paper, no guide marks to go by. I probably should have left the background white since the Toucan does run the risk of getting lost in the bckground once dry, but I can always go over the bird if I need to later.
I really do like the marbling effect that happens with this paper. Just wish there was a way to seal it without getting spray marks on the paper. I can spray it with fixative, but every time I have tried, I end up with white spray marks on the paper. Going to have to do some research to see what other people do.

Fun, I like this.
ReplyDeleteThis bird looks wonderful and I like the blue background! I have some yupo but never used it yet! I guess you use watercolour markers. Can alcohol ink markers be used? They wouldn't need fixing perhaps?

thank you Jo :)
June, these are just normal markers that are water soluble, and as far as I know you can use alcohol ink markers on Yupo, you just need some kind of blending agent. I don't actually lol if they need fixing, don't think they would but not sure. you should give it a try :D
This is beautiful Jen. Love the bright vivid colours. I think the blue brings out the other colours with the contrast.
