Scribble Picnic-Jars

The theme this week was  "jars" and I had no idea at all of what to draw so didn't think I would get anything done for this week. I can't really remember what I was looking at or reading when I came up with this idea of a witch's apothecary full of jars and a few dragons.
These are just rough sketches that need a lot of work. I need to put some more objects on the shelves and redraw the whole thing to be transferred onto better paper. Probably watercolour paper since I don't have time to colour this with coloured pencil.

Linking up to Scribble Picnic :)

Your jars of dragons and other things...I say that tail...HaHa is so clever. I'm not sure I would check out your jars if I were hungry.....haha. This is really a cute and create take on the theme.

OOh, leg of lizard, right up my alley! :) Love this take and so super promising the direction. I was to see the rest of it done. Looks great, Jennifer, and thank you for joining us her this week! Now I know who Fuzzy Dragons is! :) So glad. BTW, Scribble Picnic is totally good with sketches that are rough as I know this is weekly and we are all too busy so my idea was that people would feel free jsut to explore concepts, not necessarily complete a piece. I complete them as i want to inspire the rest of you in different ways to approach the theme. :)

I forgot to mention that I left you a comment on my blog about the various jars.

Looks like you had fun with this one, nice sketch with lots of details.

Perchance would this be something like Merlin's apothecary? It does seem magical with the dragons.

Your sketch reminds me of an old fashioned apothecary - and do love to come across those with beautiful hand-made wood and glass shelving and amazing jars, bottles and containers. My favorite is in the tiny 10th century French village where my brother lives - just looking in the windows and seeing the old ceramic jars labelled with French medicinal names sets my heart a-fluttering!

Wow! Really creative!! Love the nose- to- nose dragons. The labels, the whole thing, makes me feel like I'm at Hogwarts & liking it!!

Oh this idea is so cool! You made me laugh and at the same time you awoke my imagination. Especially the idea to add some dragons to the apothecary shelves is amazing. There is no better place for little dragons than there ;)

I love this idea. It has great potential. Even your rough sketches are fleshing out some of the details, especially the second one.
