Left Handed Sketches #172 & #173

(#172)

An Osprey, there are a few not too far from here but haven't tried to go see them since its probably a lucky day if you happen to see one.

(#173)

Another Hornbill, no idea what kind tho. I can tell if a bird is a Hornbill, but there are so many of them, I wouldn't be able to make a positive ID, I'm not a twitcher.

  2. I like the energy in the top sketch and now I know a new term for those birders who are obsessed with life lists!

  4. Oh these are wonderful! The first one looks so inquisitive and the second very content.

  5. I love the way you developed the detail on the eye with the top one. Leaving the rest of it "sketchy" is really adds a lot.
I have never seen either one and would love to.

Chris, the name just makes me think of over caffeinated bird watchers lol

    thanks Shashi :)

    thank you carol :)

thanks Lisa :) I think the Hornbill looks content since he is so big no one will bug him lol

Julie, that eye drove me nuts lol I've see small hornbills in zoos, but never the big ones like this guy.

  7. Great Sketches Jennifer, you have reminded me of my time living in Brunei when the hornbills used to arrive near our house every evening. Such colourful creatures. Have a great weekend :D
