Sky's Surgery

Don't worry I wont be posting actual photos of the surgery, just the surgical cut. She had the surgery on the 30th, spent the night at the vets to make sure she was ok to come home. Normally they out 2 metal plates on the leg to help support it, but the vet said she had "weird legs". I asked what he meant, and because Sky has dainty legs, she didn't have enough leg bone to put 2 plates on. There was damage to one meniscus , so the vet repaired that too.

This was the day she came home. They had her on methadone for the pain and we were supposed to give her tramadol at home. After we got her home, about an hour after having her home she started to have what I thought was a focal seizure, scary as hell.  So phone the vet and they say bring her back in. By the time we get to the vet, she is fine and the vet doesn't find anything wrong with her then. After a bit of research, John found out that focal seizures can be a side effect of giving methadone, rare but of course it happened to her. Hasn't had any other seizures thankfully. Also, we did have an inflatable collar for her to stop her from licking the wound, but she can bend in half it seems as she could still get her leg, so that didn't work lol

And the leg today. Looking pretty good but the dog is going stir crazy. Do you know how hard it is to keep a collie from acting crazy and running around? Thankfully the stitches come out on Monday and we might get the all clear to take her for car rides so she doesn't go insane since there is another 6-8 weeks of no running/jumping/chasing or anything a collie wants to do.
