Weekly Book Wrap Up
New start to the reading year. Going to make my reading goal 40 books again, seems a doable goal, not too little but no too much.
Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
OK let me say this first, this book is not for everyone. It can be confusing and you often don't know what the hell is going on, but I found it well written. It is only really near the end were you figure out what has been going on, things are hinted at during the rest of the book, but not enough to really guess what is going on. I can completely understand why some people did not finish this book, it starts off very slowly and really confusing. I really liked the main idea in the book, implanting people's mind into someone else, so 2 people in one and the conversations between the 2 characters are often the highlight in the story. I liked it but don't think its for someone just starting to read sci-fi, would probably put them off of the genre.

ReplyDeleteI think your reviews give a good feel for the books, thank you!
ReplyDeleteYay for reading! I will check that book out. I'm a big sciFi fan and mind implants sound pretty interesting. Not that I'd want one, LOL.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds intriguing, I am not sure if I have enough patience!
