A couple owls from 2008 when I was experimenting with coloured pencils and Neocolours. I really like the Neocolours, the colours are really bright and they blend pretty well together.I think I stopped trying to use them together because I wasn't a big fan of the hard outline around the subject matter. Probably could solve that with a bit more blending tho.

A bit more work done on the tail feathers before my hand decided to go numb. Unfortunately my hands do go numb on a regular bases when etching due to the MS, probably because of the pressure involved and I can't etch with my left hand. Its not safe at all to use a very sharp pointy tool with my left hand, unless I want to use up all the band aids in the house lol Sometimes just taking a few minutes to do nothing can help bring the feeling back to my hand but not in this case, so I had to stop for the day. Hopefully get back to working on this tomorrow :)

Started to work on the tail feathers. Lots of dark and light feathers to work on to try to make it look right. I was wrong when I said at the beginning of this etching that the pose will look odd until closer to the end. It still looks odd unfinished lol A close up off the tail feathers showing how the shading is built up with lines made in every direction.

A pointillism piece from 2009. Forgot how much I actually do like doing pointillism. Can take a lot of time, but I kind of zone out and don't realize how much time has gone by when working on a piece. I am trying to find some older etchings to compare to what I do now. I think I know where they are but still can't find them. Hopefully I do soon. :)

OK, so this kind of looks a little too feline like, (I think its the claws), but its just supposed to be the basic sketch. Hopefully once I vector it, it looks more like a dog lol I like Dachshunds, but they can have so many problems with their backs now and tend to get a tad too pudgy if you let them lol. Still nice little dogs though.

Babylon's Ashes by James S.A. Corey My rating: 3 of 5 stars Such a big dramatic work up with the characters and the war and then...it just seems to stop. A bit disappointing and felt like a cop out. Enjoyed the main characters and their interactions as usual, even tho Filip is a spoiled brat. I will keep reading the series since there is usually one book in a series I am kind of meh about.
