Still reading the big bloody book, aka War and Peace lol on page 1113 of 1653 in my edition so might finish it soon. But i have been reading other books so I don't get bored reading the BBB lol   The Children of Men by P.D. James My rating: 2 of 5 stars People haven't been able to have children for a generation, people are panicking over the human race ending but I don't think that after a generation that would be a problem with the population numbers but people are panicking anyway, maybe the lack of reproduction doesn't bug me because I've never wanted kids lol... and if a society is so concerned about finding a fertile male, why would you ignore a big chunk of the population because they have a disability, even a minor one? Good world building, people generally would stop caring about their future when what is the point when you have no one to leave things to, religion would be pointless since pretty much the whole point is to control people and you can...

Thing Explainer: Complicated Stuff in Simple Words by Randall Munroe My rating: 4 of 5 stars I found this pretty fun to read. Yes, it could have explained things talked about in the book with the actual names and descriptors but I found it more fun with some of things being talked about to guess what he was talking about. Made me laugh a few times with the tiny hidden gags. Choosing to only to use 10 hundred words to describe things in the book is a nice gimmick but also made me realize people need to broaden their vocabulary (ironically, not on the list :p) View all my reviews Jennifer's bookshelf: currently-reading The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge tagged: currently-reading In Cold Blood by Truman Capote tagged: currently-reading War and Peace ...

Still reading War and Peace lol Its taking a long time because I'm only reading it really when its nice outside and I can sit in the sun. Its a big bloody book but I am enjoying it.   The Red Headed League by Arthur Conan Doyle My rating: 3 of 5 stars Better then the last story, not as predictable and a more interesting mystery. Very fast read, more info about the "bad guy" would have been nice tho. I will keep reading in the hopes of discovering why people like Holmes so much as a character, because besides the first novel, I can't figure out why.
