I probably should have started simple with my first crochet project. A small scarf, or even just a few granny squares. No. I want to make a ripple blanket. 0.o all this counting is driving me insane....
I do excessive amounts of crocheting of blankets, toys, slippers, etc.... But after trying a ripple pattern that's what I always look like too! I've yet to succeed at one. Good luck;-)
How funny....I'm in the midst of a ripple blanket too although me thinks I'm a little bit further along than you are. hehehe I find the only major counting is in the first row of chain stitches....once the pattern is established, you just eyeball the change in stitches. Persevere...you can do it, Jennifer.
Here's a link to a great post explanation of the ripple design if you're interested. It helped me get the basics. http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/neat-ripple-pattern.html
This weeks colours for The Summer of Color are 2 purples and a yellow and this is what I did with them. Not my favorite colours so really racked my brain trying to think how I could use them and which bird to use. Decided to go with a juvenile Golden Eagle since I don't have any photos of a purple bird :p I think I prefer the black background, the yellow seems to stand out more against it. Which do you prefer?
LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh Jennifer, you are a riot! LOL

Keep having fun ha ha... I too hate the counting bit that is why I guess I never took to crochet. But I hope to put that right slowly.
