Muffins!

Image
Strawberry muffins :) I hadn't actually baked anything in this stove before, so was crossing my fingers they didn't catch on fire :p And more work on the leopard....That muzzle area needs a lot of work before it is even close to looking right. Still very tempted to just crop the eyes and leave it at that.

Small Update

Image
Been teaching myself tunisian crochet so only worked on the leopard for a few hours today, not that you can tell :p This looks really light on my screen, but the actual image is on a dark brown board. Might have to do a bit of editing once its completed so the colours are more true.

Leopard #6

OK, so the anatomy isn't exactly right, but I kind of like how it is turning out.

Finished Tiger Eye

Image
For Sale Finished the tiger's eye. I tried not to use a lot of greys on this, use more blues and purples to get the shading since you do see those colours on white animals. I did end up using grey/black on the really dark parts as I just couldn't get the blues dark enough. A closes up of an eye section showing all the colours used, takes a lot of blending to get the eye looking smooth.

Tiger Eye

Put the Leopard away for a few days, and switched to another big cat's eye.  I just really like colouring eyes, not sure why.

Leopard WIP#5

Image
Not supposed to look like a cub, but I like the furry look :p Nose only has the base colours down right now, still needs work.

So Sad

Image
  This leopard looks depressed :p

Leopard WIP Adding Colour

Image
I normally don't put white down first when using coloured paper, I use knowledge of colour theory to pick the right colours to use to get the final colour. With this tho, I did put down a layer of white since the final eye colour is pretty light so needed the white layer to help. Went and bought sunscreen so I don't turn into a lobster, and before that it was nice and sunny...since then its been raining almost everyday :p Lesson learned, don't buy sunscreen.

This is Going to Take Awhile....

Re-drew the eyes. I did make them bigger than they normally would be because I really want them to stand out. Put in a nose, should actually be a little higher up, but with the bigger eyes it looked odd. And slowly starting adding spots and re-drawing the muzzle. Where it is at the moment. A lot of the right side is dark near the muzzle, so I will have to find a few other photos of Leopards from this angle to see how things look with more light.

Leopard #1

Image
The start of a leopard coloured pencil piece. The eyes looks a little funny, but I've measured them, and they are the same size. Putting in all those spots is going to take awhile :p ah, figured out what was bugging me about this. The space between the eyes is not wide enough. Easily fixed by just cutting these out and rearrange them.

Polly Wants a Cracker

Image
For Sale   Finished the parrot and now onto a big cat. Going to try to colour another A3 sized piece, working bigger seemed to work all right last time, so might as well try again. No left handed drawing today....seems I might have pulled something in my left arm from using it and giving my right arm a rest the last 2 weeks :/ So now I can't really use my left arm lol

MS Diagnoses Anniversary

Image
I hate this thing :p Its very common for people that have to give themselves injections to get sick and annoyed at giving themselves needles, (I know it has a name, but I can't think of it right now, brain fart :p). I don't think I would be that annoyed at having to take injections if I didn't also have a bleeding disorder , because on top of the bruising I usually get hematomas a lot. So my stomach and butt look like I have been hit with a BB gun, it can be pretty painful. I had to stop injecting on my thighs as it was too painful and the injections sites were swelling right up and bleeding a lot :/ So the 4th was my MS diagnoses anniversary. 6 years ago, time flies. Have things changed? yeah, I can't walk a long distance, but being able to walk even a bit is better than having to use a chair. I do have a hard time remembering things, so cognitive issues are a problem. I am blind as a bat without my glasses on :p My hands and feet go numb more, and the meds to...

Left Hand #6

Image
I have noticed that using my left hand to draw makes me focus on the lines that are the most important to the object being drawn. It works for some drawings better then others :p

Left Hand#5

Image
Little Barn Owl.Getting easier to use my left hand, doesn't feel so awkward holding a pencil. Don't think I will ever get rid of the scratchy look when using my left, but that is Ok, its a nice look and adds texture to the sketch.

Left Hand #4

This was a bit more of a challenge, but challenges are good :) At least you can tell its a horse :p

Polly want a Cracker?

Image
Teaching a parrot to say that is better I guess then teaching it to swear at someone, or tell them to walk the plank :p

Left Hand #3

Image
A little eagle sketch. Next I am going to try colour with my left, either over the pencil sketch or just using markers. I really need to figure out a better way to hold the pencil, or angle my wrist more so my hand doesn't cramp up. I know that it is sore because my left hand is not use to being put to work :p Maybe grip the pencil closer to the point, so I could have a bit more control.

Left Hand #2

Image
A bunch of pears. I actually really like the loose scratchy look, works really well with this sketch.

Left Hand#1

Image
The first of the months drawings done with my left hand. I was just going to start with simple objects, draw shapes and just practice making lines, but figured I would get bored with that very quickly, so thought might as well jump in feet first and draw things that I normally have no problem drawing with my right. It is possible to draw with my left, its just very scratchy and that might not ever go away. But with more practice, holding a pencil with my left hand hopefully wont feel so awkward.
