Rook #5

So worked a bit on the Rook today but my wrist has been bugging me all day and was just too painful to work any more after a few minutes. After uni went to the  minor injuries unit and have apparently tendonitis in my wrist and need to wear a splint for 5 weeks. Drawing  will be fun :p yay....

    I've had to start wearing a brace at night so that I don't mess my wrist up anymore then it is so I know how un-fun they are.

    There is so much detail in that rook it blows my mind. It's like I can reach out and pet it :D

      doc told me to take it off at night, not sure why tho maybe to help with the swelling?

    Oooh noooo! Is it from all the etching work??? (which I love, btw)
    Your rooks are great. I have a crow lining up on the wire for bird food in the mornings now.

      probably is from the etching, but I enjoy it too much to stop :)

      they are pretty smart birds who can get pretty use to people as a food source

Summer of Colour #3

This weeks colours for The Summer of Color are 2 purples and a yellow and this is what I did with them. Not my favorite colours so really racked my brain trying to think how I could use them and which bird to use. Decided to go with a juvenile Golden Eagle since I don't have any photos of a purple bird :p I think I prefer the black background, the yellow seems to stand out more against it. Which do you prefer?
