Flower Friday
Love rhododendrons but so does Sky, and since they are toxic to dogs we can't have any as she tries to eat the sticks.
I just love the colours they come in, and these are now in John's parents yard since they have more space for them.

Those are gorgeous. Are they blooming now? They bloom in June (I think) here.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea they were toxic to dogs, good to know.
no these photos are from a few years ago, probably around june/july. most things are dying back now, except my hydrangea, for some odd reason it is trying to flower
DeleteHi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteNever knew rhodies were toxic to dogs. Portland, our last home, had them all over the city and they will always be a favorite. I must've posted about a hundred photos of them, at least. Beautiful photos!
Enjoy your weekend.
Sincerely,
Gary.
they are everywhere and usually not a problem, but Sky shows a bit too much interest in the sticks so we can't have any :/ they are gorgeous, such wonderful colours to them :)
DeleteWe have some in the front yard where our dog does not have access. If they don't smell like food, he probably wouldn't eat them anyway, but this is good to know. They are so beautiful...
ReplyDeletethey are very pretty, most of the prettiest flowers are the most toxic :/
DeleteI love rhodies, too. Had no idea they are toxic to dogs - thank you for that info, Jennifer! I usually worry only about Bruno [horse] when it comes to toxic plants, as the dogs are not too interested in sticks and plants.
ReplyDeleteKathryn
lots of the same things toxic to horses can make a dog ill but good that yours show no interest in plants or sticks :)
DeleteOh wow, these are fabulous!
