Fuzzydragons

Its been raining all day and I still feel like crap, so need some colour today. John would have taken these because even with a nice camera and lens, my hands are way too shaky without a tripod to get detailed shots like this.

Been awhile since I have posted some flower pics, but todays is pretty stormy and grey so need some colour. I have no idea what any of these are called lo. I do remember this basket being huge, a good 2 feet around. Some kind of succulent? A cactus flower. Speaking of Cacti, mine are shockingly still alive. And more Koi fish. I'm surprised they are still alive since all of the coins are probably not doing a lot for the water quality. So busy with Uni work since assessment is on Monday and everything has to be handed in before 9 and then we don't have to go back until the next Monday.

Love rhododendrons but so does Sky, and since they are toxic to dogs we can't have any as she tries to eat the sticks. I just love the colours they come in, and these are now in John's parents yard since they have more space for them.

A couple of white flowers for today. Looked really nice surronded by the orange and yellow flowers. Type of rose maybe? I can't remember lol

Didn't forget about flowers for today :) Some pretty Nasturtiums, which can grow everywhere if you are not careful :p Apparently you can eat them without any problems as long as you haven't sprayed them with chemicals. Maybe in a salad? And a big bee hanging out on one of the in-laws lilies :) One of those shots where I wish I had the current camera when it was taken, could get a lot more detail now.

Some really pretty white lilies today :) Which reminds me, I need to see if I can get some different lilies to plant next year so I have more than just pink ones to get photos of :p

Dahlias I think for this Friday. Might be some other flower but I can't remember. Been so busy with the first week back at Uni, but the week has flown by so almost forgot it was Friday. Think I have caught the plague, so need something pretty to look at. Seeing this makes me wish I had the camera I have now when I took it. Picks up way more detail than the point and shoot. Still pretty to look at tho. Almost look like they have been dyed to get this bright orange, might be natural tho. And a pink bunch :) Should probably try to draw close up sections of some of these. Obvs not a flower, but a cat in a bird bath waiting for a meal??:p

My hydrangea broke a few months ago after a really strong windstorm and I did try to get this to grow roots, but nope it died. Got some nice photos of it and the main plant is still alive so should have some more flowers next year. Love how all the colours blend together. Love how much detail shows up on my camera lens. Still wet from the storm. As usual, photos taken by John since I can't see properly to take photos, even with auto focus on. I figured out the best way to describe my vision. If you have ever been swimming and opened your eyes under water, that blurry out of focus look is how my vision is at the moment. Getting better but still messed up.

Most of the flowers around here have either died or are starting to die back, but its a good thing we take so many photos so I have lots of flowers pics. Not sure if there are enough to last the winter, but there might be. I think John took most of these, but a lot of the time its hard to tell who took what since we have such similar photographic styles. My favorite flower. Need to get some more next year, and some in different colours so they are not all purple :p OK so I did say I wasn't going to post more daisy photos, guess I lied :p Just really like how the photo captured the daisy still half closed.

People are probably sick of seeing daisies lol This is probably the last of the photos of them for awhile since they are starting to die now. You can tell its turning into Fall, not that we had much of a Summer before it tho :p Nice bright oranges and reds :) Not sure why the petals are bent, there were a few of them like this, very strange. Last one, I promise.

Too many seeds in the trough? :p Meh, couldn't be bothered thinning them out so we have a burst of colour in the backyard. Makes for some nice photos with the newish lens. I really should draw or paint some of the photos John took, (I can;t really use the camear right now due to fuzzy vision :( ). Would be a challenge to see if I could get the colours as bright as the actual flowers.

So a few weeks ago I posted some photos from Duthie Park so decided to post some more photos from that trip but this time mostly more cacti from their greenhouse. This photo gives you an idea of how big some of the cacti there are when compared to the people in the photo. And if I remember correctly, there are even bigger ones there. I didn't know people can eat these after taking all the spines off. Wonder what it tastes like. OK, so not a cactus but it was in the same area :p And a flower so that there is at least one flower for Friday ;) Would have hated to fall, trip and then land on this. Hurts enough when I pick up my little prickly cactus wrong, couldn't imagine the pain from this. Just love the blue tones to this cactus. And there are little areas like this all over the garden. Some inside, others outside like this one was. But all are decorated nicely.

Duthie Park in Aberdeen is a nice place to spend an afternoon, well maybe not on a day like today tho. Anyone have a boat we can borrow? Lots of pretty plants and flowers to see and lots of green space to have a picnic if you want, but again not on a rainy day like today unless you want your tea to float away... I have no idea what most of these plants are, just know they are pretty. Start with the cacti, some in flower, some not but I do remember they had all kinds of different ones to look at. I should know what these are, did plant some a few years ago but can't remember what they are called. (John says they are Zinnias)   More pretty flowers, love the patterns on them. (petunias?) And Koi! big ones too. We need some nice weather so we can go back there an take some new photos and see what is flowering now.
