Weekly Book Wrap Up

Been reading a lot of graphic novels lately, been meaning to start reading Chew for awhile now but never had the time to.

The Gods ThemselvesThe Gods Themselves by Isaac Asimov
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

lots of science, lots of alien sex, and then back to lots of science. Finished it, found it pretty boring.

Chew, Vol. 1: Taster's ChoiceChew, Vol. 1: Taster's Choice by John Layman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

very odd premise lol a guy gets psychic impressions when he eats anything but beets. And that includes corpses. Really liked it tho, gritty but not too gritty and for some reason I find it funny chicken has been outlawed due to bird flu and there are black market chicken dealers.

Chew, Vol. 2: International FlavorChew, Vol. 2: International Flavor by John Layman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

great story, great art :) def. worth a read, highly recommended

Chew, Vol. 3: Just DessertsChew, Vol. 3: Just Desserts by John Layman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

one word review:

POYO !!

Chew, Vol. 4: FlambéChew, Vol. 4: Flambé by John Layman

another enjoyable, weird, funny, fast read :) If a person likes reading odd stories and wants to start reading comics, this is the series for you.

Chew, Vol. 5: Major LeagueChew, Vol. 5: Major League by John Layman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Still not boring, still amusing and entertaining

Chew, Vol. 6: Space CakesChew, Vol. 6: Space Cakes by John Layman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Following a different, more likable character around. Bit of a gimmick to change characters, but it works well here.

Chew, Vol. 7: Bad ApplesChew, Vol. 7: Bad Apples by John Layman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Still entertaining but too slow compared to the rest, and starting to get too predictable, but will continue the series to see how it progresses.
