Weekly Book Wrap

Didn't read anything the week before, but finished 3 books/graphic novels last week. Still behind in my reading goal I do have a lot of short story collections I want to start on.

Rat Queens, Vol. 3: DemonsRat Queens, Vol. 3: Demons by Kurtis J. Wiebe
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

loved the art, story was ok, trying a little too hard to be "edgy"

Children of the Storm (Amelia Peabody, #15)Children of the Storm by Elizabeth Peters
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

too many kids, too much plot recycling going on. Interesting to see how archeology went on in the past, gets my blood boiling tho knowing how much was destroyed and how much is in private collections never to be seen by the general public.

Guardian of the Horizon (Amelia Peabody, #16)Guardian of the Horizon by Elizabeth Peters
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Might confuse people reading the series since it isn't actually written in chronological order, goes back a few years in the characters lives. Did it add anything to the series doing this, not really. Doesn't add anything to the how and why the characters interact the way they do. Just an excuse to go back to the Lost Oasis, which could have been explored more and then I would have thought the book had a point. Not a horrible book, just one in the series that didn't need to have happened since the only big difference between the last Lost Oasis story is the characters are 10 years older.

  1. I read a graphic novel last week, but I can't remember the title right now. The books you read sound interesting.

  2. You are doing so well, almost 50% half way through the year. I think the books about the Lord investigator with Nathaniel Parker (too lazy to look it up) Elizabeth George??, those books jumped around in time and I did find it a tad annoying.
