Paint Party Friday

Started on the left seal today before I had to stop because my right hand started to go numb. The numbness in my right hand is def. the MS and with a bit of a break goes away. The numbness in my left hand doesn't act the same. It is very hard to explain. When the MS acts up I have no spatial awareness with the effected limb/digits, its like it has fallen asleep and its not connected to my body anymore. With my left hand, I have spatial awareness and it feels like I am getting stabbed by hundreds of those little plastic cocktail knives for drinks. It gets worse if I use it, which I always do because I forget and the pain is always there even with the few meds I can take. I'm not going to say its not the MS causing the problem, it very well might be. But it just doesn't feel like its the MS and I kind of feel like people (Drs/Physio) are using the MS as an excuse because I am not fitting into the little bubble of symptoms for the problem. Well, they better realize that I have ever "fit" into any of the symptoms for many things and many doctors/specialists before have been stumped as to why I have something when I probably shouldn't. Hell, the jaw specialist didn't think the problems I had would be arthritis in my jaw, pretty young to have the problems. Well, um sorry? :p At least the jaw is now sort of fixed and I can have more than soup for dinner. Side note, the dog is still fascinated with the metal in my face and it tickles when she sniffs my jaw where the fake joint is lol

And if you read all that, you deserve a cookie. Or one of the tarts John is going to make :)

Todays sketch for my 365 challenge. A Stitch key-chain John bought me.

  1. Adorable Stitch character. My grand daughters favorite character at this time. So sorry about your hand problems. I have had popping and dislocating jaws since I was in my 30's. I just have to chew carefully. Glad yours got correction.

    1. I love the movies :) just too cute :)

might want to get your law looked at, sounds like a problem with the TMJ. there are ways to try to help it, that don't involve surgery

  2. Yeah, they love to lump everything into MS like it's a catch all. Can't explain it? Must be the MS. Moving right along....
I love your etchings. This looks like a very hard one...

    1. Oddly enough this is the first time the MS is being blamed for something, It might be the cause of the problem but I don't want the MS to be blamed for things because then they stop looking for the actual cause of the problem.

This etching is...taking too long lol. Its that rock driving me insane :p

  3. Hopefully they find a way to help you soon, it's frustrating when things are incorrectly attributed. The seal is looking great and the stitch sketch is so cute!

  5. I know how frustrating the doctors can be. They do the same thing with lupus. I am sorry you are having this trouble and will send healing energy to you. Love your sketch too.

    1. thank you Nicole :) some doctors seem lazy and just want to take the easy route for a solution to the problem when the problem has nothing to do with a major health condition :/

  8. Stitch looks cute and the seal is very well done, so far. Hope you get lasting relief from the pain in your hands.

BTW, I also read your post about Stephen Kings novels. I generally do not read him. I have read The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, which is a novella, and I liked it. Years ago, I read Gerard's Game, which was okay. I have always like the movies based on his stories. Currently, I have Mr. Mercedes and Finder's Keepers (loans from the library) waiting to be read. Not sure if I will make the time two large books.

    1. thank you :)

I started reading King at a pretty young age, possibly a bit too young lol so have been a fan for a long time. His books since the bad accident, understandably, have changed and not always for the better. I've read Mr. Mercedes, but to tell the truth can't remember anything about it other than I didn't like it :p but you should have a go because a lot of other people do like the book.

  11. So delicate sketches!

A dear friend of mine has MS and that sounds familiar what you told: every symptom is "due to MS" and it's difficult to reassure doctors to investigate matters more deeply. One has to be so stern, it's annoying.

    Take care!

  12. Great art. I find that anytime you have any chronic illness they want to blame every symptom you ever get on it and then want to prescribe anti-depressants as the chief medication for it 🤔

a lot of the meds used for nerve pain for MS are also anti-depressants or for similar conditions oddly enough lol

  15. I'm sorry to hear about your health problems. I guess sometimes doctors just don't know themselves what is wrong, but it takes a good doctor to admit it and look further to find out. I hope yours will! Wonderful artwork, that little stitchy character made me smile.
