Weekly Book Wrap Up
Failed reading 100 books this year, but 96 is pretty good so I don't feel too bad about not making it. I think if I hadn't of had a migraine the last 2 days I might have met the goal. Smaller goal for next years reading challange.
Black Beauty by Anna Sewell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Yes some parts of this story are a little depressing and bleak but...because its told from the perspective of a horse, you get a better idea what they go through in life, which can be dark but there are times of happiness as well. I can't even remember how many times I have read this story, I loved it as a kid, reading it again now tho I can see how dark some parts can be and not much has changed sadly in the treatment of animals. Still, its a good story and you really start to care what happens to Beauty.
Fortress in the Eye of Time by C.J. Cherryh

Slow, boring, pointless characters, confusing plot. Why does this get as high of a rating here as it does? I'm all for long epic fantasy, but this book is just boring and I only kept reading thinking it might get better. It didn't. And there are 4 more in the series, def. not going to be reading those.

ReplyDeleteIt is hard to read 100 books. I am home all the time and I read about 120. You have a real life and go to Uni and still managed 96?? Sounds pretty good!! Oh I can't re read Black Beauty, it is too sad.
