Weekly Book Wrap Up

Didn't read anything "serious" this week or anything that requires any thinking lol set my book goal at 40, which still is OK and if I go over that I will be surprised,  unless its from reading text books.

One Night in Scotland (Hurst Amulet, #1)One Night in Scotland by Karen Hawkins
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

As cheesy and predictable as this was, I still enjoyed it. Probably because of the Ancient Egyptian element. I liked the main female character, some of her antics to get out of "jail" made me smile. The main male character is nothing new, dark, broody and handsome, so kind of boring lol You know who the "bad" guy is very early on, it almost screams in your face it is so obvious. Was a quick easy read, something to read on the beach if it wasn't the middle of winter.

TimecasterTimecaster by Joe Kimball
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was such a daft book, made me think of a futuristic written version of the Crank movies. It is so badly written, but entertaining at the same time. I didn't expect anything from this book so didn't have my hopes up about it, which is why I probably enjoyed it as much as I did. People complain about the gratuitous sex, but its so over the top and completely unrealistic, I just laughed at it. Lots of people getting hurt/killed, drugs, people skyjumping in space, bad science. Its like watching a big summer movie blockbuster.

Zombie Patrol (Walking Plague, #1)Zombie Patrol by J.R. Rain
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Started out promising, strange object from space, mysterious government agents, mysterious illness, and then it doesn't go anywhere. The characters were boring, one dimensional people, the rest of the plot seemed to follow your low budget zombie flick, so way too predictable and boring. I do realize there is only so much you can do with a genre that has been done to death, but this story didn't even try.

The ForgottenThe Forgotten by Jacqueline Druga
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I really liked this, the characters were interesting, the start of the outbreak was ok, and then it of course had to go all religious on me. And thats when I finished it just to finish it. Not here for zombies being from(view spoiler) . Wish I had of known that before starting.
