Making a Mess

I forgot how messy paper mache is :p There was goopy stuff flying all over, the desks, floor, me, probably the ceiling....
Side view, showing the shape of the mask better.
A layer of brown paper over the newspaper. Still needs textures added and painted of course, but it needs to dry...I'm hoping it dries :p

  1. Oh, FUN! I can't remember the last time I did papier mache... Although I do remember the mess! Hmm... and the unique smell of the paste. Will cross my fingers for speedy drying...Do I detect a fuzzy dragon shape?

  2. Love papier mache!! My friend made fabulous masks a few years ago. The floor heating at school dried it out really fast!!

  6. Can't wait to see the finished (dragon?) mask.I remember doing paper mache at school. We used wallpaper paste and newspaper strips. We made piggy money boxes. The paper strips were pasted over a balloon and done in layers. Then we used egg carton segments for the feet and snout and a pipe cleaner for the tail. Loads of fun!
