For Sale This months location in the Virtual Paintout is Tasmania :) Very nice looking place and another one to add to the travel list for one day. I will just say, I love my markers :D I just wish they were not so much money or I would have more of them. I know this scratchy ink/marker style is not to everyones taste, but I like how simple it looks but also how colourful I can make it.

This month the country that is visited on the Virtual Paintout blog is Thailand. I ended up just doing a quick sketch of a temple and addded a bit of colour with my markers. I use my ink pens all the time, but really should use my markers more, they work really well, and add a nice touch of colour to a black and white sketch.

Quick ink drawing of Robin Hood Bay, love the name :) I love my ink pens, should probably use them more as I am very quick with them and don't focus so much on detail. I've been wanting to start doing ACEOs again, so started with something simple :p A Peacock feather on black paper. For Sale Drenched again due to these clouds... but at least there was a pretty rainbow after all the friggin rain :p

Virtual Sketch for April Copyright Jennifer Rose Phillip ACEO Coloured pencils and Neocolors Very quick one for this month :) This week has gone by so fast it isn't even funny. Neocolors for the background and Prismas for the flower. I might redo this at some date so that it is more then a half hour piece of work as it is a very nice photo. This was a quick little card to do. I completely forgot about this, so while I would have liked to maybe spend an extra few hours on it, I'm happy with the way it turned out. Didn't do a lot of detail. Just wanted to try to focus on the colours in the Clementine.

So its just a simple little sketch in my little sketchbook. "Pears" Copyright Jennifer Rose Phillip The start of an ACEO for the Virtual Sketch Date . Cropped the photo to focus on just 2 of the pears. I have scanned this in parts so I will post the WIP on my newsletter (sign up area to the right) and post the final here. (sorry about the fuzzy photo. Bad lighting) And now that I know that Pryex will take the heat I need to bake my Sculpey I can add another thing to my to do list :D I want to include some of my crystals with the model/sculpture and of course it will be a dragon. So I did a very very quick little art card for this months Virtual Sketch using Derwent Inktense pencils. Loose sketch with the pencils seen above and than wetted down. Copyright Jennifer Rose Phillip So this month there was another picture to draw for the Virtual Sketch Date . I managed to get some more time this time around to participate and thought the fruit would make a nice ACEO. This month the reference was supplied by Leslie and she has a really great tutorial on her blog so go check that out. Also go and look at all the other art that people have done this month. Links with all the art will be posted on Sunday. Enjoy all the different and wonderful art :D *edit* I really have to remember not to watch a movie that has any kind of military vehicle in it, 'cause Mr.Fuzzy talks over the actors trying to explain how the vehicle works :P Then again it was only "Reign of Fire" and I just want to look at the dragons and Gerard Butler so I don't need to hear what they are saying :p

My rose has started to bloom. It is a lot redder than it looks in the pictures. I am just shocked that it hasn't died lol hmmm maybe the curse of the black thumb of death is broken? (nah probably not considering John has been taking care of this most of the time ;) ) And I did get time today to draw a sketch for the virtual sketch . I wish I had have had more time to work on this, but been so busy cleaning up the flat. Just a quick simple sketch on plain sketchbook paper. I would have loved to use my Inktense pencil as the colours are so bright. I have dozens of pictures of these lilies so I can always use the pencils in the future. Go look at the other sketches that people have done :D The hedge that was in the backyard of the flat has been cut so that its less than a foot tall. We now have a lot of light getting into the kitchen. Just need to put up a simple fence now. The neighbours seems like nice people. So things are going well with that and the decorating is really starting ...
