A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle My rating: 3 of 5 stars First time reading any Sherlock Holmes stories and this was entertaining enough, good introduction to the main characters and Holmes' style of solving crimes. I was confused in the second part with all the talks about mormons but it ended up making sense later on. When you go up to the hills, you do sometimes see these birds on the side of the road, alive not dead tho. Capercaillie are not tiny birds, but not huge, about the size of a turkey so you really wouldn't want to hit one with your car. Or be chased by an angry male lol

 (#59)  3 more owls and I have no idea what types. I know a lot of bird species, but besides your common owl I have no idea what some of the owl species are. I think I need to go and do some research about owls.  (#60) Because owls are pretty much the same basic shapes, they are not that hard to draw with my left hand. Start with a circle or an oval and change the shape slightly, add different facial markings and you have an owl. (#61)

Once again another startled looking bird, a Caracara this time, another cool looking bird. (#56/365) A pelican for sketch #57, very odd looking birds when they are on the ground and much bigger than you think when you see them in person. Linking up to Sunday Sketches

I haven't seen any of these in zoos, its a Red Crested Turaco . Seen them on nature documentaries tho and their feathers shine like emeralds.

I have figured something out with my left hand drawings, if I have drawn the bird before with my right hand, I find the bird easier to draw with my left. Don't think I've drawn a Ceder Waxwing before, don't remember at least and found it harder to sketch compared to a Kingfisher, which I have drawn before and found easier to sketch with my left.

An odd looking confused owl for left handed sketch #52. Finally got around to watching Rogue One last night. I thought it was OK but I've developed a problem. I can't seem to watch anything now without paying attention to the design elements rather than the story lol Or I start wondering how hard it would be to create some of the creatures in ZBrush, (probably pretty hard right now since I haven't used it since February :/ )

Know idea what kind of penguin this is, but its sketch #51, which is a lot more done then I though I would get finished lol

This is now 50 left handed sketches done, not all of them were of birds tho so  I would need to draw a few extra ones if I wanted 365 birds drawn with my left hand. The above was a Blue-footed Booby but I ran out of room to draw his legs and below is  cue little Chickadee, another common tiny bird in Canada.

Still reading War and Peace, pg 687 so nowhere near finished lol Draplin Design Co.: Pretty Much Everything by Aaron James Draplin My rating: 4 of 5 stars So full of colour :) Nicely printed photos and a good show of work he did when younger to until now with an over view of his life and working career. The book is written like how he speaks, so if you haven't listened to any of his talks, might be a good idea to so that you know the style and language you are going to read so you will know if the book is for you or not.
