Copyright Jennifer Rose Phillip A bit more on the scarab. Its looking a bit too pink for me, but can't fix that now. Once the whole thing is coloured I will go back and darken areas if they need it. I think the next scarab will be black and white :p And my dragon is now burple. This is just a base colour, so this colour should only still be left in the shadows and indents of the scales once the scales are painted. The scales themselves are not going to be all the same colour as the paint is only going to be mixed up as needed. I didn't like how the fins looked so painted over them and dabbed the ends of the fins with a lighter aqua. I'm really hoping that the paint will come off the shell :p I know it will come off the rocks, but if it doesn't come off the shell I'm going to have a techno-colour shell :p

Copyright Jennifer Rose Phillip No I wasn't picking my nose :p Went to wipe my cheek forgetting I had a paintbrush in my hand and ended up with and paint blotch on my nose. Good thing it washes off :p And not as toxic as oils. Oh wait *goes to read* nope we're good :) I think the fins are going to get at least 1 more layer of colour sponged on. Either a yellow, or a really yellow green. I am such a messy painter lol When I was painting in school, I didn't have any clothes without paint on them. Looking at the paint and then the laptop, it took all my willpower not to grab a sponge and paint the case :p Its such a blank canvas even with the Halloween stickers on it, it needs colour!

Baked but still unpainted dragon. :) hmmm might take awhile to paint all those scales lol I must have had some kind of fluff on my fingers or this was really dusty when I put it in the oven (hmm fire anyone? jk. I checked before I baked it), because parts of it are grey. I think I am either going to paint it blue or red with yellow scales but not 100% sure yet. Once it is painted I will take photos of this from every angle. I need to so I can put it in my portfolio. Those are blue beads in the eyes. I didn't actually know if they would survive being baked, but seemed to have not changed at all. *note use glass beads next time :p Was very pretty outside with the frost covering everything. I have to remember to take some pictures if the frost is still here tommorow. I need to learn to knit faster so I can make a really warm sweater. I have this knitted wool coat that I love, but the sleeves are starting to unravel. And well they have been fixed, I don't know how long the fix will...

Got another treasury on Etsy today :) Needed the colour after the grey day we had here :/ So I started to put all the scales on the dragon :/ I'm glad this isn't bigger or I would have probably not put scales on it :p Lots left to do. More scales, more rock piles and the face. He looks a little blasé here so I will be adding scales to his face, maybe another horn, and using a needle to give him a nose and a scowling mouth. I'm hoping that his head doesn't actually fall off as I didn't stick any wire in it and then stick that into the body to help support it. It shouldn't fall off as I attached it with lots of Sculpey, so fingers crossed :p Now the question is do I leave this after it has been cooked, paint it white, go get some acrylics, or get some kind of gloss medium to use either over the white or the colours?

Taking a bit of a break on the Aztec dragon. So from one dragon onto another. I would post the sketch for this but its honestly a few quick scribbles just to remind me. So here is a very quick little armature made out of tinfoil. I don't have any wire so had to use this to help flesh out the main shapes. Yes that is the bottom of a Pyrex measuring cup :p So here is the little cartoonish treasure chest almost finished. I am not going to be putting any major detail on it until I have more of the rest of the area finished as the detail might get lost if my fingers or tools come up against it. Can you tell that there is a skull at the base? I am adding some rocks that are whole and that I had Mr.Fuzzy attack with a hammer. I don't have any paint so thought this would add some kind of colour to it. Oh and the phone call went all right :) Said that I can write my own reference and that if I get accepted after a portfolio review that I should come in and talk to the disability people ...
