This weeks word is mawkit :) Last weeks word speug is a sparrow :)

One lino block cut, but I will probably end up cutting more away one day until not much is left with it. I changed my mind while cutting this, so it ended up not looking a thing like the picture I had in my head :p Pulled a few test prints, just to see what it looks like at this stage. If you didn't know it was a skull, you might not know what it was, but I think it looks cool. I want to mess around with paper textures and textures on the plate itself, so its a good thing I have lots of paper laying around and the weekend off from college. Lots of time to play :)

for a bigger scanner. It does nothing but get in the way, and get hit by door frames anyway :p And when I use paper bigger than A4 sized, I can never get a nice copy of it with the camera. One day a bigger scanner will be mine (no idea where it would go tho, foot stool when not in use?) Finished these dogs, done in a very loose style, but that is what I wanted to achieve this year. Be looser and not so focused on detail in everything. Now, to focus on backgrounds :p My foot isn't broken, yay!, but the cracking sound I heard was probably the ligaments snapping or tearing (ouch), hence why my foot hurts so much. As long as I don't do anything stupid with my foot for the next few weeks, it should be fine. But of course, I walk into the door frame today :/ hmmm might be a good idea to put foam pads on all of the corners...just to be safe :p

Mr.F's dad made me up a bench hook for me to use when carving lino, much safer then holding the block with my hands :)  Shouldn't need so many band-aids now :p Tripped over the dog last night, and my foot is killing me as all my weight landed on the side of it. X-ray in the morning to see if its broken, hopefully not but it does hurt a lot :/ And since I can't do anything around the little house, I worked on a drawing of a few dogs. Here it is sketched out and then with adding water.... It starts to look like this. Still need to add more to it, to try to make it look a little more like fur, but its a start :)

Finished this last night, just need to find a frame for it now. I want to find one like I used here, but it all depends on price, the joys of framing :/ At least it isn't huge and wont cost a fortune to frame. I think I have found a style that I like when painting. Its not really realistic, but not really that abstract. It works for me tho, I think, well at least I am not saying that I hate painting any more

I'm working on a few things actually...this painting, another bigger horse painting, the lino cut from the other day, a horse sculpture (that might turn out, or it might not :p), and an etching of some zebra behinds :p Plus 2 landscape paintings....hmmm think I should get back to work :p For more creative spaces, head here :)

Today was one of those days when no matter what I used, I just couldn't seem to draw :/ Was a bit frustrating and not sure why. Even grabbing my ink pens didn't help. Nothing seemed to work. I could blame the fact that we were off for a week, but that probably isn't why. I think it was just one of those days when nothing works right, including my brain :p *crosses fingers that tomorrow is better*

Today was my day off, so nothing to write about. But since its blogtober, have a pony to look at :p(actually I think its a horse, but I wasn't about to measure it)

This weeks word is, fae Last weeks word, guddle can mean many things :p but in this case it refers to a  messy place. (yeah, I should really search some of these words online, just in case they have a "different" meaning :p)

(blagh, hate taking photos this late :/) This still needs work, but I am happy with the way it looks at the moment. Its not done in my usual style, its much more loose and abstract than I would normally do, but I still like it. Needs some highlights and lightening in some spots and work done on the sky, but I'm going to try to leave it alone for a day and then work on it again.

Still working away on the giant granny square, its not taking that long, just have to figure out how I am going to attach the handles since I want to make it a shoulder bag instead of a hand bag. Be more useful as a shoulder bag than a hand bag. And slowly adding colour to this. Unlike the granny square, this is taking me awhile :/ It could be the paper, or I just forgot how long coloured pencil work can take after using ink pens so much lately at college. Still working on my 15 foot wide blanket :/ but I need a break from it before I go insane :p So decided to start a new bag and I figure since its pretty much just a giant granny square, it shouldn't be too hard *crosses fingers* I'm not a shoe gal, but I can never have too many bags :D And making one doesn't make me feel as guilty as I would feel if I bought another :p

The Lino I ordered showed up the other day, so will have to make sure I have lots of band-aids in the house before I start cutting lol :p This is the rough sketch of what I want to put on one of the blocks...will take awhile but will hopefully look nice when finished :) New cover for the bed :) I guess I could have made something similar myself with textile paints and flinging paint around. but I'm lazy ;p

I say "um" a lot, didn't realize I said it so much tho :p Its been awhile since I've coloured a scarab and figured it was about time for another one. This one isn't as detailed as I usually do them, but the swirls will still probably drive me insane :p This is pretty big for me, this half is 6 inches by 12 inches, so it will be a good size when put together. I sometimes wish I could make jewellery, since I would love to turn some of these into pendants :)

I have said it before, and will probably say it again; I am no painter. But having said that, practice does obviously help, since I like the way this is looking right now. I like how the highlights of the horse are pretty much all of it you can see and the rest merges into the background. I must be in a blue phase with all the blues I keep using :p For more creative spaces, head here :)

For Sale Third day and I am out of title ideas :p Did this for the Virtual Paintout blog using my ink pens and water. I like the effect, will have to try it again later on a bigger scale when I get the time :) Buying art supplies can be painful, but at least I will have lots of lino to play around with when it shows up :D Now, to draw and maybe try to figure out relief printing (looks complicated)

I completely forgot about Blogtoberfest! This year has gone by so fast and with college I have been so busy trying to remember everything, so I can't think of a post for the first day :p Have a video instead of a drunk cooking :p

We go from having a gorgeous day, warm enough to go the beach, to a torrential downpour :/ hmmm well as long as it doesn't snow for awhile yet, I'm fine with that. I love snow, but not a big fan of ice and would like to go a year without falling on my ass :p I was going to work on this owl more today, but I woke up with a horrible migraine and couldn't really do anything but go back to bed :/ Thankfully my head seems to be getting better so I might be able to get some extra drawing done tomorrow. *crosses fingers* Standing pose in life drawing. I usually do a few bigger pieces and then bring out my sketchbook to draw a few quick sketches, sometimes focusing on one specific body part for practice. I have realized that I don't like drawing realistic looking people, prefer the sketchy rough look and I think it suits me more anyway :)
