For sale I started this a few weeks ago, finally had time to finish it. Its a very simple looking horse, but I think it looks good. And on to another horse. This time in graphite and probably a little bit more realistic looking. Lately I have been trying to simplify objects when I draw them, but sometimes I just want to draw lots of detail :p Some people might remember this plant from last year. It wasn't my rhododendron then, but its in the backyard now. The person who did own it, got pissed off at one of the neighbours, hacked all of her (not the neighbour,) plants down due to them being overrun with weeds (and other things :/) from the neighbours part of the yard,  this one survived. When we left the flat I asked if I could take it and she said sure, take them all. So it now survives here, but only if Sky shows no interest in it. Since they are pretty toxic for dogs if they eat any part of it, as soon as she goes to chew it, the plant goes (so far she ignores this one, the oth...

For Sale So I'm going back to college. Yeah I feel like getting up at an insanely early time again and risking the crazy bus system (and hope the bus doesn't catch on fire). I did apply for 2 courses, was accepted into one and am on the waiting list for the other. The course I did get into was the same course I was on last time when I went crazy and had to stop going. I am determined this time to finish it, I was so close that when I stop and think about it I was stupid for not going. OK so I was crazy, so thats a bit of an excuse but it still bugs me that I didn't finish the course.I think now that I am on meds for the depression and anxiety that I should be able to finish it; and that we also seem to have figured out what works the best with the MS, I should finish. I did have to paint my butt off for a portfolio tho because I didn't really have that many paintings to put in it, lots of drawings just not a lot of paintings. Decided I had nothing to lose by experi...

Blast From the Past Part 6

Image
So this is the last post with old art. 2 weeks ago I wasn't too fussed about all of my old drawings, but seeing how much things have changed has made me wish we had space for it all. hmmm not to mention you would have to probably hire a boat to get it all here and all of that paper is probably a huge fire risk.... I have no idea why I stopped drawing dragons like that. I really like the style of them, so will be adding some elements from that style to some dragons in the future. I did notice going through these drawings that I had a tendency to get bored with a drawing and leave it half done. So this poor mastiff will remains ear-less :p

The offspring of a zebra and a giraffe? nope, its an Okapi :) They are related to giraffes tho. Another animal that people might not know about for the photos this week. I've always thought they look like a creature from a sci-fi book lol 1. Okapi - 3436 , 2. OKAPI , 3. Okapi , 4. Okapi For more faves head over here :)

Blast From the Past Part 5

Image
At 19 I started using lines a lot in my drawings. I really did enjoy drawing like this, you loose track of time making all those squiggles and dots up. I think I was trying to experiment here and see how much I could get the Rhino looking like tree bark...yeah I think thats what I was trying to do :p And a duck. Watch out! They hiss and chase you! :p

Moo!

Went to Glamis castle the other day. Mom and her hubby went into the castle, but I've already been so just walked around the grounds, taking photos and sketching a bit....Well, I managed to quickly sketch 2 things before the wind blew my sketchbook out of my hands and I said screw this, I don't feel like trying to get my book back from the top of a tree. The highlight of the trip? This cow licked mom :p

Blast From the Past Part 4

Image
And now I'm 18 and drawing a lot of scarabs. I seem to go through periods were I focus on drawing one thing more than the other. I was really into Ancient Egypt then, so scarabs showed up a lot. Drawing a lot of jewellery too. Anything shiny :p Still drawing horses, don't think that will ever be something I don't draw :) Went through a bunch of old photos with mom, they were....interesting to see. Why I ever thought some of the outfits were nice, I have no idea lol but I thought I looked good. meh it was the early 90's. Most people didn't dress they way they should have :p

Blast From the Past Part 3

Image
So when I was 16 I really started to draw dragons. They pretty much all looked the same, but it did give me something other then horses to draw :p Pretty simple looking dragons actually, the next batch of drawings have dragons that look a lot better lol

Do you know how hard it was to find photos of narwals that were not either stuffies or didn't have watermarks on them? Hard :/ Which makes sense since they live in freezing cold water. Not many people are wiling to dive in that to get some photos. I've always thought narwals were cool animals, with the long tooth sticking out of the front of their heads, unicorns in disguise :p 1. Narwhals , 2. Fotografia - Mostra Internacional "Olhares em busca de um mundo sustentável" , 3. Narwhal Tusk and Various Horns , 4. Two-Tusked Narwhal - Monodon monoceros For more faves, head over here :)

Blast From the Past

Image
So my mom is here for just over a week and I asked her to bring some of my old art, as she kept a lot of it (I would have probably had a big bonfire and smores with the flames off of the paper). So I figured people might get a laugh out of seeing what at the time I thought was great art, but looking at it now, I laugh :p So even at the age of 12 I drew birds and horses. The birds look like birds, but not sure what the horses look like, not horses tho :p There is quite a few more drawings to look at, so if you want a laugh, check back soon :) yum I really want smores now....

I didn't manage to draw yesterday. Too busy worrying about an ill dog :/ Had me really worried when she really couldn't use her back legs, but by the time we got to the vet she was walking better. The vet said its more than likely a stomach bug and the pain from her stomach was making her not want to move; so a shot of antibiotics and some for home. She now is acting like nothing was wrong, daft dog. She hates the vets. Every time she goes there she loses hours in her life and a strange man sticks a stick up her butt :p I did manage to get a few more rows done on my quilt tho. I now know why people knit when they are worried and don't want to think to much. Using your hands takes your mind off of whats going wrong.

I've always thought these were cute animals with all their shaggy hair. I really should write down all the animals I have done so far, just in case I start over from A again once I get to the end of the alphabet. For more faves, head over here :)

May 8

Image
may8 Originally uploaded by fuzzydragons The start of another horse. When I can't think of anything to draw, I either draw dragons or horses, so a horse it is this time. The plan is to do this in coloured pencil as its not that big, so shouldn't take forever (famous last words)

May 6&7

Blogger is being a pain for me, not working more then its been working lately :/ So this will be a short and quick post while I cross my fingers that it actually works *crosses fingers* I have managed to draw little ACEOs for the last 2 days of May, but I have mostly been driving myself insane trying to make a blanket. As if I am not crazy enough already, for my first crochet project I am making this huge quilt. At least the pattern is simple and shouldn't take me months to do (of course now that I have said that, it will end up taking years to do :p). I'm not too concerned about what I draw everyday looks like, it could be complete crap. The point is just to draw something, and even if its junk, show people. I sometimes get people telling me that they are more willing to post their own work online when they see that I post my good art and the bad art. I am not afraid to show the bad stuff, so why should they. Thats great, and I figure I might as well show people the stuff I...

Shiny!

This week is theme week so I suggested "shiny" for a theme. I should have done this theme when I had to find photos of animals starting with "h". Much easier to find animals starting with "H" than "L", but here is the Lionfish :) Pretty but deadly, and it can be shiny sometimes :p 1. lionfish , 2. Lionfish , 3. Lionfish , 4. May 1st

Image
may 1 Originally uploaded by fuzzydragons So the plan is that everyday this month, I will draw something. It doesn't have to be pretty, and can only be some circles on a page; as long as I put pencil to paper everyday. I'm not expecting to have anything thats worth showing, I just need to get in the habit of drawing more everyday. I do try to draw everyday, but if I am going to go back to college next year (excepted for one course, haven't heard about another yet), I really do have to get back in the habit of drawing more. At the very least I will use some supplies I normally wouldn't, and at best, I will end up with a few finished pieces to show people :)
