Red Stag Xmas #1

Image
Starting to create some art for Xmas. I thought I would make some Scottish themed art and use Scottish animals with a Xmas theme. This is a Red Stag that ended up tangled in some Xmas lights and done in Corel Painter . Adding basic shading to the head. At this point I am working very loose just trying to build up shapes and shading. This is the above photo with the colours blended together. And this is the stage it is at now. Still needs detail and some more shading but it should hopefully be done soon *crosses fingers*

Inktober Day 25

Image
Redbubble Store Zazzle Store An angry spiky tiny dragon for day 25 of Inktober. I might end up doing a series of cacti dragons, there are enough varieties of cactus to make a different style of dragons. I might use a different program for that though, probably Painter since I do know how to use that program more than the one used to make this. Another video for the image.

Inktober Catch Up

Image
Seven pen sketches to try to get caught up for Inktober. Still behind lol but closer now to finishing the month with 31 sketches for Inktober. I thought if I just drew very quick 5 minute sketches I could get caught up as this month has turned out to be a lot busier than I thought it would be. I don't think I will do anything more with these but they make nice warm up pieces to get my wrist moving on the page.

Throwback Thursday

Weekly Book Wrap Up

Myths and Mortals by Charlie N. Holmberg My rating: 2 of 5 stars OK for a second book, not too much telling of the backstory from book 1 (too much can be boring) but also almost no character development for Sandis, who I would have thought with being the m ain character she would have been more developed. This books follows pretty much the same plot as the first book, find trouble, run from trouble etc.... The mythological lore is interesting, and yay for not having a love triangle, even though the set up was there for one. View all my reviews   Siege and Sacrifice by Charlie N. Holmberg My rating: 3 of 5 stars Fitting conclusion to the trilogy. Much more action packed then the last book. View all my reviews   The Seventh Bride by T. Kingfisher My rating: 4 of 5 stars Interesting retelling of the story of Bluebeard with a bit of magic. Great strong characters and a nice take on what happened to his previous wives and why the
