First snow of 2011 - 2012

Hmm pavements are now white outside :/ I HATE WINTER!! unlike Mrs F, who loves it....strange strange strange girly.....

Snow??

Image
It is a little odd not seeing snow on the mountains. This time last year we had over a foot of snow, but no sign of it yet. Not that I should complain, I'm not falling on my arse  :p

Too Red?

Image
New hair colour :) I really like it, just hope it doesn't fade too fast. *crosses fingers* Had a dentist appointment the other day (third time the charm for this filling? last time it fell out was almost 5 years ago tho), remembered to bring my camera hoping that something interesting would happen. Nope. Nothing interesting :p Where are the cops and druggies when you need them? :p But here is a view towards the steeple looking the other way. Really not much up here but my dentist so don't have any reason to walk to this part of town (then again, I might be missing something). I did think about going around and taking pictures of all of these signs and the places they are representing, but thats a lot of signs (and I can't find a list of them right now,my googlefu has failed me :p). hmm maybe I could fix a sled to Sky and she can pull me to all of the sites? :p (the power that little dog has for pulling things is amazing, but would never hook her up to a sled. Maybe ma...

Adventure Time?

new hat Originally uploaded by fuzzydragons New hat :D Time to go exploring? Anyone have a plane? Or a hunky explorer to go exploring with? :p Was a gorgeous day today, had a bill to pay in town so took the camera but didn't find much to take pictures of :/ but here are 2 shots of downtown with the blue sky :) NOM NOM NOM foot :p she was trying to chase her tail, in the kennel of all places. odd little dog. And a small art update :) Really small lol hmm its amazing how little art I get down with the dog and actually getting out of the house (ack! sun! I'm melting!)

Bonsai!!

Or as the rest of us would say "Banzai!", One of many Jennisms ;-) And Sky trying a pickle, sadly I just missed the chance to film her flipping it in the air and toying with it in various ways, including using her head to try and smush it into the carpet....*rolls eyes* The point of that I do not know..so yeah video :)

Sky the terrible :P

For Wendy, proof that Ryder is not the only dog in the world who finds amusement in playing with and making a mess with their bedding. Its almost as if Sky thinks that by laying down and grinning that we won't notice that the once neatly folded blankets are now across the floor in a large heap...no never, we are that unobservant and its not like she makes a noise while making a mess either :-P... I think MrsF should draw a web comic called "Sky the terrible" or simply "Sky"..with the subjects drawn from things Sky has done....what does everyone think?

Happy Hogmanay / New Year :-)

A Happy New Hogmanay / New Year from Me, Mrs F and the Cow :-) Hope everyone has a great 2010 and that only only good things come this year (Hey one can wish :-P ) Anyways since Mrs F and I have become old people....We're off to the land of nod ZzZzzzZZzzzz

Killer Attack Goose

Image
We had a bit more snow last night so went down to the loch which was pretty much empty except for a killer goose :p Glad we went down tho as the snow had at the time started to melt, I think its pretty cold out right now so the snow is probably sticking around for another day but I'm not going outside to check if it is cold lol brrrr And as we were leaving, we caught this bird out of the corner of our eyes. Not the best photo as it was taken from the window of the car and I didn't want to open the door and scare it away. I have a rough idea what it is but honestly not that sure. And ideas? * Elizabeth suggested a Moor Hen, which I thought it might be but wasn't sure :)

Snowy Ramblings!!!

Would be the Perfect Place to Have a Halloween Party.....

Image
If you could be certain no one wrecked anything. And actually since almost the whole place is on a hill, someone might end up falling down the hill :p I guess it would work if a few people came as Jack and Jill. And it might be funny to watch someone bob for apples and try not to end up rolling down the hill with the bucket of apples following them. I do like that I can walk here in under 20 minutes. Its a nice little place to kill a few minutes. There are so many graves here with wonderful carvings :) I really need to bring some paper and do some rubbings of them before you can't read them at all. Or before they end up buried like a lot of them were.   There are a few graves from the 1700's. Probably more then we can read, since there are graves where the whole front has eroded or fallen off. And this one is a tad creepy since the face of the angel has eroded, perfect for Halloween though :)

Scottish Word of the Week August 17, 2009

I don't know what it is but 3 out of the 4 times we have walked up here, its rained (the only time it didn't was when Mr.F proposed on the top of the hill). Its still a gorgeous view down the hill and its a nice walk, just have to watch out for rabbit holes (and the odd horse/dog mess, and how they got a horse up there I will never figure out o.0 ) Night bright sky here but right behind us were really dark clouds that thankfully didn't open up completely on us, I don't fancy a case of pneumonia. Eye Spy ...

an inspiration. :D ok seriously I don't really know what exactly inspires me. More then one thing does, and more often then not it is things that give me drawing ideas. Maybe its the artist in me but I do have a hard time not looking at something and not getting some type of drawing idea (which isn't a bad thing unless of course its something dead, and even then some artists find inspiration in that) , narrowing down a few things that inspire was actually harder then I thought it would be. I love flowers, their shapes, colours and smell. Even the bees that use them for food are inspiring to watch. There are so many flowers I want to draw, just not enough time to draw them all. The grace of birds inspires me and makes me want to have wings to fly. I would even love fake ones to wear lol hey that would be a cool project to try. Human sized wings made with fake feathers of course but different coloured ones. And when I see the view around here it makes me want to paint it. The sk...

Everyday in May #31

Forfar Loch May 31 Originally uploaded by fuzzydragons Gorgeous day today so went down to the Loch hoping to see some ducklings or goslings, but no luck :/ Maybe later on in the week. There is what looks like a black rhododendron growing in the backyard. Mr.F says once it flowers it will probably be a purple colour but I hope to get a picture of it tomorrow as its so odd to me to see a black one. So crosses fingers for no rain tomorrow :) "Everyday in May #31" Copyright Jennifer Rose Phillip I really need to think up a title for this. Pissed off bird doesn't seem to work :p Did about 45 minutes worth of work on this today, my back is really hurting for some reason so drawing is a little sore at the moment. I wish we had room for a drafting table, but I will have one someday :) (I could always build one myself. Which is a great idea because then it would be exactly how I want it to be). Put in the lines for more feathers and started on the back of the head. Still need to ...

Who in their right mind would go swimming in the loch? o.0 Does not look clean enough to swim in, but I guess it is cleaner then it use to be. The loch use to cover quite a lot of town before it was drained in the 18th-century. And if you ever get lost in Forfar here is a map :p I think they need to replace this one. Its looking a little old. (the map images are pretty large so you can read the text, just a warning for people on slower connections) And a close up of the right side. And a close up of the left. Art later :D

Everyday in May #17

Image
everyday in may 17 Originally uploaded by fuzzydragons Managed to get some art done. Not much, buts its better then nothing :D The other Eagle is going to be looking at the viewer. Going to be about 10 by 15 inches. I'm debating on what to do with the background. I could either use the Neocolors or just use different coloured pencils. The Neos would save a lot of time though and this is going to take a while due to its size lol Another tiled store front :) We get the oddest looks from people when we are taking pictures of random things. People stop and stare at what we are taking a photo of trying to figure out why we are taking the photo, what could be so interesting that we stopped. They either shake their head and move on, or keep looking looking long after we are gone still trying to figure out what was worth taking a pic of :p or yell "Take my picture! Take my picture!" I don't think people want to see a picture of a ned. Once you've seen one, you've see...

Forfar loch

forfar loch Originally uploaded by fuzzydragons Gorgeous day today :D Went for a walk down to the loch, which I don't think I will ever be able to say properly :p I can't do the back of the throat thing that makes loch sound Scottish. When I say it, it sounds like "lock" which is wrong :p Scottish Word of the week: 1. snash Answer to the last Scottish Word: 1. ging means to go
