These are some sketches for my comic that I forgot to post here. A few character sketches and a few creature sketches before I went with the creature looking more like a boney deer lol Good luck reading my messy handwriting. (going to be image heavy, sorry) Another version of me as a superhero, not that I wear skirts that much. Thumbnail for my superhero comic because what do superheros do on their day off? (yes, I know what the sketch on the right looks like lol)  Finished simple comic. First time using Clip Studio Paint, and I really need to figure out how everything works with that program. Page 7 and page 2 of my short comic. I've edited the colours here, but not added any text yet. Couldn't find a font that worked, but finally found one that I think will work so crossing my fingers it looks ok and is legible. I wanted a horror type font but most I found were either too blocky and ones you would use for a zombie story or you just couldn't read them, they were just too scratchy. And yes, I need more green paint lol

Two more finished comic page 6 above and page 4 below. I have started already to edit page 6 in Photoshop by darkening more specific areas but it might need more work before I am done. Not sure if it is easy to see here, but there is supposed to be a creature lurking in the trees. Might have to darken some areas and lighten others to make it more obvious. or maybe its too obvious and will just have to darken the whole thing.

Three pages of line art for my little comic. I didn't need to draw a lot of detail since I can fill that in with watercolour and because watercolour can be a little unpredictable in what it decides to do, I don't want to have to fill in all kinds of little areas if the paint is going to do it for me, or not as sometimes happens. Love the unpredictability of watercolour, but it can cause you to want to tear your hair out at the same time. Page 2 is above, page 3 is below. You can tell I spend a lot of time drawing up odd creatures when you see the wendigo type creature here. And page 4 here. There are 4 more pages but I dont have them scanned yet to show people. The comic is all drawn tho because if it wasn't, I would not be sleeping lol

Two finished coloured pages for my short comics. I need to edit them more in Photoshop, but will do that when I have them all finished. The above page is page one and the page below is page 5. I am not painting them in order, but painting the full pages first instead of the pages with simple panels. I figure get the big pages done first and then focus on the pages that will probably take the longest.

Practicing colouring for comic line art. I am probably still going to finish colouring my comic in watercolour, but it is always good to have a fall back in case I run out of time. The way this looks right now really reminds me of someone else but for the life of me I cannot remember who.

Pg 1,2 These are the bigger thumbnails for my comic. No big amounts of text, just rough placement for the text boxes. This is probably going to be very dark looking since it takes place at night but I haven't made a final decision on what medium I am going to use to colour the pages. Pg 3,4   Pg 5,6 I did have smaller thumbnails done already but it was kind of hard to follow what was going on. In some of these panels without text it can still be a little hard to know what is happening, but there isn't a lot of text in the story, I am trying to focus more on the art side to tell the story. It will either work, or it wont lol Pg 7,8

This year at Uni we take a module in both semesters that is supposed to broaden our skills. For semester one I chose the Comic Art and Graphic Novels module, where we have to create a 6-8 page comic from scratch. Harder then you think to tell a story that will make sense in 8 pages. For my story, because its close to Halloween I thought I would tell a creepy campfire story based around the Wendigo . I was thinking of using Painter to make the pages, so these rough character sketches will probably change, depending on the mood in the panel being drawn or how difficult I find making comic pages with Painter. Most of the pages are looking like they are going to be full page spreads with a few of the pages with panels with the camper characters in them. I will post the thumbnails for the story later on in the week. I might try a few pages done with watercolour to experiment with the look and see whether to make the comic digitally or traditionally.

An odd looking sketch of a bowl for today's sketch. the actual bowl is not this oddly shaped lol, didn't notice the bend to it until I was finished. Thats what I get for having the paper laying at an odd angle. One of the little comics I had to do for uni. I wanted something very simple that wasn't going to take forever to do but still told a simple story about me being a failed superhero.
